The architect v droid crafting station is still very prevalent. I get it in my house almost every night when serving customers. I have a single station in my house for wpn/droid/general. A medic comes in, purchases a droid with F&C station in it and then calls it. Poof, half my schematics are gone when I open the tool up to make another droid while that droid is out. My architect-made station is in the back room, the customer's droid is in the front room with me. My crafting tool functions like there is no crafting station about.

Experimentation on R3 chassis has uncovered that an unlisted resource value (probably OQ) is required for effectivness.

Im working from memory here, but I think It says SR and UT ore the only required stats.

Sorry G-man, but Inotoced another need test. Droid Customization Kits do not give Droid Crafting XP. You are correct on this one. Can someone esle confirm?

Yup. It was listed in the last version of the thread and made it near the bottom of the bugs on this version.

As a new up and coming DE i am glad to see someone post this kinda update. I have only made a few droids but have found the bugs you listed. Maybe Devs will take a look.......

Droid Customization is General Crafting Xp also.

not sure...I created an advanced protocal and it had a droid repair module and a droid data module in it. Neither item seemed to work, unable to repair anything and only able to store draft schematics, did not see either problem metioned.

I still have issues with the droid changing colors every time it's called and sometimes its completely invisible =O... has this been addressed?

Might want to add all Humanoid droid types to this issue, to clear it up for some of the new Christmas DE.

3.Uncertainties

E.Information in the datapad for some droids no longer lists things like the commands programmed for the droid, customization, etc. some of them do.What's the deal?

The commands are now listed in their own seperate menu popup off of the datapad radial menu. I haven't seen the customization listing in quite some time now..

H.Droid crafting modules seem to break when near architect crafting stations. Confirmation requested.

I have yet to run into this issue. I often sit inside my work shop, where I have all four private crafting stations surrounding me and my droid with all four droid crafting stations. I've made it a point to try and craft near them while crafting everything under the twin suns. I haven't power tested weapon crafting yet, but I've had no problem with Armor, Droids, Structures, or Meds.

Looks like the post is about to hit 2 pages in lenght. Guess its about time that the DEVs take note and start to fix some of these issues so that there will be room for the next installment

There's your answer for the first part on repair units. As for Data Modules, they've been that way for a long time, to prevent people from "exploiting" by being able to take more than 2 missions at a time (can't store the mission data any more) or store more droids or pets than they are allowed (can't put the droid/pet/vehicle data in a droid.) While I agree that the second part, about pets/droids/vehicles is a legitimate issue, the two missions limit is nothing but a time sink and annoyance to have to run back to town after the missions, and with a group, it's not even a very good time sink when you consider two missions per group will last a decent length of time, so it's pointless, but still there anyway.

Waypoints should be storable in the droids data pad, but of course, that would somehow give an unfair 'advantage'.

I was told we are going to be getting alot of what we are asking for in this next publish regarding droids. Yay! Only 1 more day to wait for some word on what is going to happen!

Here's my thoughts on the power droids...

Others have suggested allowing power droids to power harvesters/factories, and have the trade-off be increased maintenance. It makes sense that there should be some sort of trade-off involved because otherwise you'd be getting something for nothing. But I think a different way of handling them would be better.

These things are supposed to be walking reactors, right? So my thought is that there should be an input hopper in the droid where you deposit radioactive ore. Let the droids continue to be able to recharge other droids without dipping into this, but for recharging a harvester (which reasonably should take a LOT more power) it would need some radioactives in it. As it recharges harvesters/factories, the ore would be depleted.

Now I'm sure you're asking, "Why should I go to that trouble when I could just bring the radioactive ore straight to my harvesters without messing with the droid?" That would be because the droid gives you a better energy return by using the ore in its reactor. I'm thinking maybe starting outat a minimum of1.5:1 or maybe 2:1, but with an increase in quality of the droid and the potential energy of the radioactive it could go up much higher - maybe to 4:1 or 5:1.

This would give a clear benefit to using a power droid - stretching your power much farther -while leaving the trade-off that you still need to provide it with something to make the power from. Of course an item storage module would be required when crafting the droid (for the input hopper) and the input hopper should be set so that it only accepts radioactives (so people can't use it for storage). Actually it can also be set up so that you can't remove a radioactive after putting it in. That would eliminate the droid's use as a radioactive storage unit.

Another thing that would benefit this droid - and others - is if we could put waypoints in their datapads. I know the devs wanted to stop people from stacking missions, but they should be able to tell the difference between a WP with mission data attached and a plain WP with no mission data. The plain WPs should be allowed in the droid's datapad. Then we could copy wps for our harvesters/factories into our power droids, and then order them to patrol the points. Being a power droid, it knows its function and it knows that this command means "charge the installations at these points", and off it trots.

There should be some limits here too.In order for the charging to be successful, the droid's owner will have to have at least administrative rights to the installation - if not be the owner. It will only attempt to go to waypoints on the current planet - it won't use a starport to go off to Lok to recharge your reactor there. You also can't leave the planet while it's making its rounds, or it will stop. Though you should have the ability to store it while it's off doing its rounds - just like you can still store a droidwhen you get separated from it, or when you go to a different world without storing it first. It will only continue to function if itsowneris online - you can't send it out to recharge your harvesters and then log off. And just like with the input hopper, this feature would require a data module at crafting time.

I'm also thinking it might be cool for it to send back status messages ("Recharge at -527, -2345 successful."). And maybe since it's accessing the harvester to power it,it could also send include certain important status messages, like if the resource is no longer available. But that might be asking for too much.

For both ofthese enhancements the schematic for the power droid would have to be changed to allow for two service modules (item and data). Maybe only the advanced model would have this functionality.

The whole waypoint functionality could have applications with other droids as well. The power droid would be the one to recharge installations, but maybe a protocol droid (or a repair droid)could be sent out to deposit maintenance credits. Binary load lifters could be sent out to pick up output from harvesters and factories. Maybe they could even bring components to factories, though that might be complicated if you've got different ingredients going to different factories. You could give a protocol droid the wp for a mission terminal and then send him in from the field to replenish your missions while you do some hunting - as long as you have less than 2 missions when you send him.

I'll admit, it is an interesting way to use power droids. Might want a thread of your own to get some more community feedback.

This has been a long standing problem. Unless it was updated, the real problem here is that the nearest station takes presidence over all of the other stations. If appears that when you first open your crafting tool, the game searches for a crafting station...but when it finds one it stops without looking for the others. So...if you are trying to use the droid station, but are closer to the architect station, you'll get the architect station. If you wanted to use the architect station but are closer to the droid station you'll get the droid station instead.

In short, this is not just a problem relating to droid crafting station modules. However, it effects us the most as we can put multiple stations in our droids and only one will work because we can't just walk over to the other end of the droid expecting to access the other craftingmodule. The last time this was discussed was quite a while. I'm at work, and I only have my lonely droid to craft for me, so confirmation that this is still borked is requested.
