From what I've been hearing, the R# droids initially come out with strange colours and seem to randomly change every time you bring them out. However, if you colour them, the colour seems to hold fine.
This is the precise behavior that I see on all R2s.

T.Review thisdeal withprobots being nerfed because they were too powerful for newbies. In the light of every boy and his dog being able to get something 'better' from a CH, this argument holds less water than an MSE Droid with no item storage module.
Then again thats still a large quantity of water per storage module slot. Of course I'd also find it quite comical to store 10 advanced BLL in my mouse droid, or 1M units of steel.
A red conto a novice artisan with no combat skills is not a red conto a level IVMarksman Carbineer. The Dev argument has never made any sense to me either.

5T: Please edit. A MSE droid with a level 6 item storage module can hold 1M units of water vapor considering a resource is a one slot stack =-)

An MSE without an item storage module can't hold any water.
Exactly my point. I think I would just be happy if the components actually had a final effect on the finished product. A good armor module should increase health, terrific propultion unit action, maybe even agood processor or droid brainunit increasing a droids mind.
Look at it this way. Part A may be the base but has no effect on the finished product. Every part can be experimented on and should have an effect on what it's put into. I suggest a very simple trade off from the current standings of the droids. Give the components some sort of attribute modifiers for the finished product. An advanced version of a droid will always have more health, action, and mind availble to it becuase it takes more parts to build. The only diffrence is that these parts have to tracked piece by piece by piece. Once they're placedinto a droid just ADD a bonus to the final product. This would leave the final product with very few things to experiment on. Power capacity, weapons accuracy, attackspeed, and durrability (ham barsoverall increase in addition to the parts bonuses) and would open the market up drasticly as sometimes a faster more accurate droid is more wanted the one for the long distance item carry. Since all droids have parts, all parts should have SOME effect on a droid.
I agree with Arty. This would be a great, specific, way to request that droi experimentation actually work, and what teh direct benefit would be. You should add it to the wishlist.

Update: Section 2
O.EXPLOIT: By telling a droid to stay, running 800m (need to cross a server zone?) or so away and calling another droid, you can effectively call all your droids at once. I've not been able to reproduce this myself. Can anyone who was previously able to do this reproduce it?
Not only can I confirm that this is possible I have seen someone running arround with a pack of rancors and 5 probots. This is a general pet bug. You must cross a line in the sand basically in order to call mad quantitys of anything. The effect is that you can actually call all pets out at once regardless of the levels, types, or power of the pets. Rancor horde pack is currently the most enjoyable pet bug for CH.
For sake of protecting my "tester" I will not be releasing his name. He prefers not to exploit anyways but I did get this confirmed with his help.
Theres more also.
K.Repairmodules do not functionat all when placed in an LE Repair droid or Power droid.
This is actually not the only problem with repair modules as droids equiped with this do not self heal their wounds over time.
My final statement: DROIDEKAS EXIST IN GAME ALREADY (planet Lok) Wheres our option to build it?

Thanks from me too for taking the time to maintain this comprehensive list - even if TH seems not to have taken it on board.
Can I ask to have an explaination as to the logic behind having to have a camp to call a droid in the outdoor wilderness? I mean why? I guess the basic problem is that its a 15 skillpoint expenditure in Novice Scout that we shouldn't have to need but do need because as we all know droids get stuck on twigs in the ground. We have to store/call then en route frequently. I wasn't around when this was put in place, but it makes no sense to me. I can run into somebody else's housein the boondocks to call but not call in the wild?
If there is no logical explanation can we please have added to the wishlist "Droids can be called Anywhere in the outdoors"
I do support the proposal that droids can be called and used anywhere at all (including Civic buildings) but to me, calling in the wilderness is the key issue.
Thanks Respectfully
This is my 2 credits worth of opinion that I am going to get out now. DE seems to be the red headed step child of any and all other professions. If we have it, someone else will be able to do it better. It seems as though they change something in DE to fix a problem with SOMEBODY ELSE'S PROFESSION and then never change it back when the problem with the other profession is resolved.
**edit** is up with that. Why should a CH be able to have better pets. Why should we have to be in a city to actually call out our Droids. Why in the world is it called Tame when it is not a wild animal.
Droids in my opinion should be property. They can be treated differently by their masters (Luke treated R2 and C3PO as people, most others treat them as machines) but they are a machine.
Also, this is something that I have wondered about for a while, any Artisan with the appropriate skill should be able to take an item and improve it. Replace components and the like. This is especially true of DE. We should be able to take that old MSE Advanced that we sold 3 weeks ago and change out the Storage Unit 1 for a Storage Unit 6.
I agree that we should be able to change the name on a droid just like you do on any other construct.
This last is a plea to the powers that be: I want to be able to play this profession. Not just have it as a side line. From the moment I opened the box and installed the game, I have been on the path to Droid Engineer. This character is my first (Yes I am a n00b) and has only ever taken out one enemy (in the tutorial). I am an Artisan through and through. When I found out how bugged the DE was I was very disapointed. I will continue to play and hope that it gets better. I just really hope it gets better.

I agree with what you say to an extent Xan. Only DE can edit DE components though because it is a droid. Droids are property but can not be programed to do anything properly. They need to be edited so that they work properly instead of randomly getting stuck on flora, rocks, and the ocassional twig. This is a generalpet follow bug and is not droid engineer specific.
As for the suggestions on name change this I agree with entirely however I beleive it is already posted here.
I still wait for the DZ70 to bea real melee combat droid. Theres also the problem where Probots can be hit with melee attacks even though it's a flying droid. They are definatly not this stupid.
Ok so maybe it was designed this way, but the "customizing is fading away" I know it is a usefull thing when the droid is customized, but when it is not it should not tell me the customization is fading away. I think it should be added to the list.
That way we might stop having new threads on this subject
