Thread: Centralized Droid Issues (30/10/03 11:30am PST)
Great post.
A couple of days ago on this forumI read agreat idea for BLLs. Have them 'move' harvesters instead of re-deeding. The effect would reduce the cost of re-deeding harvesters, possibly by a third, maybe half.
(Could you also have this expanded to any type of installation? Factories? Houses?)
A successful Artisan / Miner would be very interested in that kind of investment, since it would pay for itself pretty quickly, and give the DE another customer.

TH should have asked: Do you agree or disagree with Gorantoth's Issues thread.
Then, of course, he'd see the flood of agreements.
Maybe you should just cut-n-pasteyour post to his "2 questions" thread.
In other news...
In the same vein of adding droid functionality to allow them to maintain harvesters, I've always pushed to have droid schematics as an optional slot on harvesters. Power droids to eliminate power cost, Repair droids to eliminate maintenance cost. One slot on mediums, two slots on heavies. The droid options reduce extraction rate as a balance. I'd like to see that added to the wishlist.

O.EXPLOIT: By telling a droid to stay, running 800m (need to cross a server zone?) or so away and calling another droid, you can effectively call all your droids at once. I've not been able to reproduce this myself. Can anyone who was previously able to do this reproduce it?
I did it just yesterday so that my repair droid could repair my probot, as my friends were offline.
So people don't get the wrong idea. This is only the second time I've done it since I started playing the game.
I found a couple more issues.
Control units in Factory crates cannot be loaded into slots. You have to extract the item from the crate before you can insert them into the slot. All the other modules and components do not have to be extracted. It is just this oneitem in a factory crate. I am sure it is just a small bug that some programmer missed that labels it as a control unit as well.
Secondly, Droid Battery crates do not give the battery quality. ie, how many charges per battery is in there. Yes, it says how many batteries are in there, but there is no way for a buyer to tell the difference between a factory crate that has batteries with 1 charge and another with 4.
Just a couple small issues that I have that might be added on there. What do you think? Am I being nit-picky?
Those are good ones Talmor1. I had not thought about the battery one cause I just give batteries to my friends instead of selling them. Wonder if the same thing is true about stimpack crates.
I also wish they would change crates back so that the double-click default action is to remove an item from the crate.
If we're going down that small on the list of bugs/fixes, Droid Storage Compartments should be up on that list also... It has NO stats, and architects always want 99% Quality/Effectiveness on them... Basically just trusting the DE's word when he buys them.
The Droid Batteries is a good suggestion for a fix/wish... But shouldn't that be on the Artisan list?

I just did this 4 times earlier today...I've never had a problem loading any item straight into the schematic from a crate... Anyone else having this problem before we /bug it?

Now if I could just finish cleaning out the old crates--we really need to have an 'age' field added to the crates. It'd make it easier to find anything that should be ruled out of testing new issues.
The battery life on crates is annoying, but less so for me and my customers because I only produce four-charge batteries, and each crate I sell includes a charge count. In addition, since sales come in all sizes, I split crates, and sell full 25s, as well as 10s, 5s, and singles. Since these all share the same serial #s for a run, people CAN assure themselves that serial #s match, etc. etc. But honestly, that's too much to expect from non-crafters, and crafters can make their own batteries.
Then it appears that maybe just the control units that I made from my factory crates are bugged. I will try to make some more control units from a factory later and see if the same issue arises with a different recipe.
It could very well be just an age issue or just a personal bug. Not sure. Just to clarify, but I am sure you already are aware of this... I am talking about during the crafting stage, when you are inserting the materials into their appropriate slot, I cannot double click or drag and release onto the proper slot for the control unit (like when I am making advanced droid motive units or anything else for that matter)
I know, it does seem like that both of these might be better suited on the artisian forum and I will see about making a post on there, but these directly influence us as well. Similarly, most non-DE are ignorant to the fact that artisians can make droid batteries as well. So theywill always ask DEs about batteries because that is a logical assumption, that a DE being the only one to make batteries.
One other thing I've noticed as well as a few customers. Seems that not only do droid colors not hold, some droids are actually coming out of the datapad with weird combinations of colors (ie not the default and not what the droid was colored before) I had one droid come out today with greens and oranges .... never had him do that before.
I've only had this happen with my R2 and R3 unit. The customers was an R2.
I havent tested if recoloring then storing / retrieving fixes it or not. Also of note it doesnt seem to matter if they droid was previously colored (I had never colored my R3 and yet he still came our looking like some punk kids spray painted him odd colors)
