OK, I'll jump on this bandwagon. Sounds like fun to me.

I also like the proposal just before my reply... to have the ability to /tell the droid to say a particular thing, on the fly. Then I could set up macros and choose between several preset quips depending on what is going on around me, or have my droid respond to players who talk to me. Of course this would be most appropriate if limited to those droids that can speak, as opposed to r-models, gonks, and the like. Then when I'm busy, for instance, I could have the droid say "My master is busy right now, perhaps I can help you?"

To the point where it doesn't axe the differences in the personality chips. Maybe a few responses that augment the pre-programmed ones. It could very well get to be the worst thing in the world to have a bunch of stupid people running around the spaceports with a bunch of droids, spouting off stupid stuff. How would a filter be able to be implimented? I've personally never tried, but if a player is ignored, what is to stop the droid from spamming?
I wholeheartedly agree that the droid should speak up alot more than it does, and needs to vocalize when certain commands are given, above and beyone what they do now. I also agree that more variationneeds to beincluded so the droid doesn't just say the same thing over and over again. 2 cents

There are some very SOLID additons here and I am gonna try to clarify what we are asking for a little bit better.
I still have no idea exactly if or where this idea is headed but I am very glad to see that the community is so in favor of it. We all realize there are other more important issues DE needs addressed but it is my hope that this would not be too terribly difficult to implement- then again I am not a Dev. so there you go.
TK if I could get some feedback as to what you would like/expect next to move this thing to the next step please let me know.
