Thread: DH it is then..see TH in In Concept !!
Yes, everyone wants destroyer droids in order to replace pets. Do you know why? Noone wants to master CH and it just feels better to send in a floating orb of death compared to 3 kitties twice your size. So what do the devs do? Go against all our wishes and give us the combat droids with a cost that is too high. Who is going to bother to get the certificates to use them? So why even bother with it to begin with.
And guess what at this point droids are more or less idiot proof. They have their own AI so they can interpret commands (like kill him /pointing at target) and then just do it.They aren't xerox machines you tell them what to doverbally and then they do it. If you want to program them to be combat and all that schtuff then fine it does require skill. However I thought that all that skill came with DE after all you make the droid brain right?
And how can you honestly use the EU to justify combat droids being scarce due to imperial decree? I"m a fanboy I'll come right out and say it. I've gone through more EU books then a lot of people, probably even you, so I know my stuff. So last time I checked it was illegal to clone yourself once, let alone roughly 1000 people in just one city within a few hours. Rebel recruiters weren't standing out in the open with giant flags screaming kill me, in fact I would question the existence of one in Coronet. Only crack squads (not single persons outside of admirals)were given AT ST's and they were piloted by people, not just a giant robotic pet. Should I continue? Dantooine was near barren and had hardly any outposts, not 30 some small cities 10 of which have shuttleports.
The functionality of these forums as a communityinput and development tool are rapidly losing their credibility.

The first two passes of the droid invasion is going to happen in Publish 6 and Publish 7. In Publish 6, everyone gets combat droids by giving all the existing droids access to Combat Modules. These combat modules are like any other modules and will give droids combat abilities up to level 10. In Publish 7, some type of droid mastery will be added for the purpose of giving players the option to handle new combat droid models.
It was in concept for an hour or two - lol - they must have really thought about the feedback.
Oh, well, looks like it is set in stone. So much for the hundreds of hours spent trying to be constructive. Funny thing is, a lot of the rest of the player base is saying what many of us here have been saying.
I am having a hard time not producint a TheRealTK421 style rant right now....

As the old cliche goes - be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it.
