Thread: Droid Prices
Base price, 6 cr per resource in, 12 if it's a specific resource
Figure out what the total price would be, add a couple of k depending on difficulty, rarity, etc.
Get a final price which sits right for me, and for most of my customers.
I don't feel the need to go into details, There's not a droid I have that I charge over 25k for.. The only droids I might charge around 25kis theC3PO. But I can't place components in it yet so... yeah ![]()
Fully loaded R3's I sell for 18 to 20k depending on the modules installed.
R2's for 13 to 15k depending on installed modules.
ADV Probots with Armor 3 - 8500 credits
Surgical droids /w Med 4 and chem crafting station - 9000 credits.
Just to name a few..
I dont know I was novice arch for a day and said forget it, the resources where out of my league. I was like well I will make a couple of equipment factories and bail. You think a crit fail is bad on a final assembly of a probot, try a factory see ya thousands of ore.
Very true about the future of bots, thats why Im holding on to my stock. I dont want to sell something for a third of what I can sell them for in the future (that of course depends on how they fix permadeath). Honestly if you are looking to make credits I would suggest running some missions.
This is my list and they sell well on Wanderhome, Some DE's go more expensive than this.
The following are prices for droids with pretty much any combination of modules. If they want level 6 modules, I would charge about 2-3k more per droid. I inclue optional armor and personality chips at no extra charge.
R4 - 8,000
Advanced R4 - 10,000
R2 - 20,000
Advanced R2 - 25,000
Protocol - 20,000
Advanced protocol - 25,000
Surgical - 23000
Advanced Surgical - 30,000
LE Repair - 13,000
Advanced LE Repair - 15,000
Advanced Probot - 20,000
Power Droid - 10,000 + cost of power core unit
Binary Load Lifters - 80,000
Just looking at resource cost is the wrong aproch Higher complexity means longer (though not much) time to come out of the crafting tool and greater chance of failing or getting crapy expermentation. Microchips are basicly sand, but do you buy your cpu's and ram based on the price of sand? I go through each droid and sub part and note the resource * complexity. Then add up the total. When I first started crafting I also then factored in the quality. If it was 89%, then multiplied by .89, then added teh durabiliy of the part if it had one as a percentage. If the part came out real crapy, the lower limit was the resource cost * 6 with resource cost runing 4-5cr. But factoring teh quality and other ratings didn't work too well. Soem stuf it dosn't matter and the way it's set up, you can't make good stuff until you are at/near master and have supper high grade resources no matter how much care and effert you put into it. So now I just adjust slightly if it's reall good or bad or high demand.
Can't really sell at a profit anyway where I'm at because some jerk not far away is selling seekers for 500. So for now I pay for my resources buy doing missions and selling rockbeetles from time to time, which also seems to about to end as they are saying that pets stored in data modules will now be lost when you store the droid. The one droid that was selling, mouse with data modules to CH for their extra pets....

Taking the magic number of 5Cr/resource isn't a option for me. I can't harvest all the resources myself. Sometimes I can buy them low, sometimes high. Sometimes the resources are good quality, sometimes not.
The most important factor for me when figuring out my prices is simple. What would I be willing to pay for this droids?
(And then I increase the prices for 25% because I'm a droid fanboy
My formula for pricing droids is fairly straightforward:
x + y / 2
Where x = how much cash I need, and y = how much the customer looks like he can afford
Advanced R3 + Medical6, x2 Item Storage4, Food/Crafting module, Data4, Droid Repair module w/medium armor= 29k ('cause it's in high-demand, and high-end components)
Advanced LE Repair Droid + x2 Item Storage4, Weapon/Crafting module, Droid Repair module + Data4 w/medium armor = 24k
Advanced Protocol Droid + just about any combination = 35-38k (requires not-so-easily obtainable material, and just 'cause they're not as commonly found)
Advanced Probot + just about any combination = 15-18k
Advanced Binary Load Lifters (there WILL be a use for them someday) - 38k, 43k with modules
Probots = 7,500
Most other droids = cheap.
Seekers 800, Arakyd's 1200('cause people are willing to pay a reasonable amount.)
There are other forumlas' to be found, but real money won't be made til we have Droidekka's (hint hint!)
Here's my standard prices.
probot 12k
adv probot 18k
surgical 14k
adv surgical 20k
R2 16k
adv R2 22k
R3 20k
R4 6k
adv R4 10k
Adv R5 7k
power 28k
prices include lvl 4 item/data/med mods
add 1k for crafing station and repair mods
includes lvl 3 armor for any droid with an armor slot, except for probots, which includes lvl 4 armors
additional 3k for lvl 5 armor
additional 2k for the top 3 personality chips, lesser 3 included in price
(thinking of raising prices for surg/adv surg though)
and FYI, i found a great use for selling adv probots, is to put a med mod and food/chem station in them. Great for the medics who want something eyecatching. ![]()
and also, all i do is make droids and run my shop ( and travel the galaxy getting parts and rare resources). The whole reason (well almost) I chose this profession was to play a non combat character, since thats what I do in every other game I play, is blow stuff up. So I don't like it when ppl say just run a few missions and make some quick credits to pay for your harvesters, i mean that's what my droid sales are supposed to cover.
Oh! and a nice custom order I do is market the protocol chassis to rich folks who want a nice golden butler to drop in their house as decoration, I name it whatever they want. I mean, what's star wars withought your very own r2d2 or c3po?!? hehe
