See, and I think you guys are just charging too much. It's not that hard to make a droid, nor does it take much time, especially with a factory pumping out parts. Now that I'm master DE and don't have to grind, I can put everything into a factory and make crates of Probots.

Here's what you should sell your stuff at:

Whatever you can!

I personally used to figure out how much resources things cost and then would multiply by 4 or 8 or 11 to find the price, but now I do something different. I first price droids at what I think they're worth (somewhat arbitrarily) on my vendor, and see what I can sell. If the droid sells, I make another and up the price a bit to see if it will sell. I also go around to my fellow DE's' shops (AmbassadorFrito, Rhapsody, Thordar, a few others) and see what they sell stuff at. Do I then undercut them? No, I price mine around the same price as theirs. Some of mine are more expensive than theirs, some are less.

It takes me LOTS of time to run to my 4 mineral harvesters, my chemical, my gas, my 2 solars, then back to my factory, and it takes money to redeed factory every so often, to redeed harvesters when resources shift, etc. How much is your time worth in the game? A LOT! In the hour it takes me to run my harvester maintenance, an experience fighter-class player can probably make 10 - 20k credits doing missions, more if they are some creature handler who can solo dathomir, they can probably make 50k (I have a friend who is a master CH and very wealthy because he has no money sinks at all and does missions and sells pets he can tame in 20 seconds). So charge accordingly for YOUR time as DE, getting resources, paying maintenance, grinding frames, messing with factory, critically failing at times, advertising, explaining for hours about how droids work.

Oh yeah, and hope for some Droidekas soon!

Peace,

2 level 4 is the same as 2 level 6 with armor modules -- there is a hard cap

1 level 6 is better than 1 level 4 though, so it all depends on how you are using them DDager.

I price droids purely on the chassis involved. Modules are all thrown in free. I use Armor-6, Data-4, Store-4, and Medical-6 rated modules. I can make Data-6 modules, but the resources are so rare on Bloodfin, I charge an extra 10k for that. I simply am not able to make Store-6 modules due to a total lack of Lidium Extrusive Ore.

Here are my droid prices:

  • Mouse 3k

  • DZ70 4k

  • R5 5k

  • R4 8k

  • Probot 8k

  • R2 15k

  • Probot ADV 15k

  • Protocol 15k

  • Surgical 15k

  • R2 ADV 20k

  • R3 20k

  • R3 ADV 30k

  • Protocol ADV 30k

  • Surgical ADV 30k

  • BLL 50k

  • BLL ADV 75k

Your prices are very close to mine, although my modules aren't free (10cr X resources used on almost any module though -- cept crafting modules, those are almost always thrown in free)

Yeah, crafting modules are so easy and cheap to make, I wonder why anyone charges for them. If one is concerned about the overall price, just bump the price of the droid itself up a little.

I'm very fond of the one-rate pricing I use. It makes it so much easier to quote.

I have the flat rate for droids, then my modules are slightly adjusted because of the requirements for differing specific resources in the top-end versions of them, but I've been doing fairly well with only charging 10 cr/unit on the modules.

I price along very simmilar lines, in concept and in practice. My prices are a little lower on a few models, a bit higher on a few others - I charge less for surgicals, more for R3's.

I also only charge additional for a few modules. Since I am a master, and make all my droids special order and always have customers that expect, "the best", I include the cost of basic mods in the price. I do charge additional for crafting stations that I experiment on, and level 6 med-mods, only because they need factory identical parts. I give level 5 med mods out for free - basicly, 100 effectiveness is free, if you want a bonus, it's a bit extra.

The only other thing I began charging for were a couple of personality chips, because ones like "geeky" need so many EM mods.

I'm also interested in this... I know demand governs some price adjusting... but...

I try to take the total amount of resources and multiply by a certain resource adjustment... 5-10

then How many subcombines does it take? and should I charge for each one? 500-1000 per subcombine?

required factory runs (adv brains et al) 500-1000 per?

Novelty?

Really, how do some of you do pricing, all the formulas I've tried to come up with give me a profit, of course... but they don't match some the high and low prices I've seen here. Sometimes I significantly lower, or higher.
