I coulda sworn the subject of this thread was Prices on the NEW builds of droids lol. aka droids with combat modules.

To that end, I have sold out at 50k, and those weren't even max combat rating + HAM 1700 (r3s, obviously). I'll be bumping it up to 75k for today.

So, apparently the trick is to sell tons of kits and only a few droids to turn a profit if you have limited resources?

Only asking 'cause I'm new to the droid engineering profession.

I am a DE 3224 on Ahazi. I am my guilds only DE and charge even my guild members 40k and up for any of the combat droids I produce. Not being a master I can't experiment them as high as most of you and my guildies understand this and are still willing to pay my prices. Hell, I even had a request for an LE repqir droid maxed out the best I could and I sold it for 40k. This things are very time consuming, especially all the advanced models, it's not worth building them if your not going to make money on them.. All of you out there who say your turning a profit on selling your droids at 20k, ok thats all you, but when everyone gets used to having combat droids around they will not buy as much and a lot of us may go out of business.. I for one plan to be damn filthy rich by that time..

I have good sales at these rates:

Adv Probot 495 combat rating 1100 HAM 2 X level 4 armor: 40,000

Adv LE repair 297 combat rating 2200 HAM 1 X level 6 armor personality chip: 45,000

Adv R3 594 combat rating 1666 HAM 2 X level 4 armor: 50,000

Adv R2 495 combat rating 1666 HAM 2 X level 4 armor: 40,000

Adv R2 297 combat rating 1666 HAM 2 X (regular modules) 2X level 4 armor: 40,000

I also sell battery crates at 50 credits a charge, or 1000 for a crate of 5, 2000 for 10, and so on up to 5000 for a crate of 25, all have 4 charges of course.

And, I sell Droid Repair kits at 40 credits a heal, or 10,000 for a crate of 10, each is 25 charges, 1600 heal. This may seem like a high price, but with all the sub parts that have to be made to create the final product, i feel justified. So crates of 25 sell for 25,000, but customer gets 625 heals. Andthat will last a long time.

I routinely sell out at these prices all the time. As many others have stated, advertising is everything. Everyone sells droids. But my shop sign says, "DROID BATTERIES, Droids, and Droid repair kits".

Trust me, the droid battery part draws em in, and once they see my wide selection of crafting/medical/item storage, combat, and combat/hybrid droids, they end up buying a droid. Of course this means I have to keep at least 400 batteries in my vendor at all times. The one time I let my battery stock run low, droid sales plummeted. So every 2 days I dutyfully do a factory run of 500 batteries, and break the crates up in to 5, 10, 15, and 20 packs leaving 1/2 in the 25 crates, and put them on my vendor.

If you offer the complete package (all types and models of droids, battery crates, repair kit crates), and advertise, you will make alot of money. But dont forget, LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOUR SHOP. Set up a hot key that shouts what you sell, where you sell it, and how low your prices are (even if they aren't). Every time you pass though a city, hit that hot key. And if you have to wait for a shuttle, hit the key every minute or so. Now get out there and sell

<< STEPS UP UN SOAP BOX

<< CLEARS THROUGHT....

okay folks.

I am a master DE on Intrepid. I set all my prices by doing alot of research and soul searching. I spent a week after i made master searching every droid dealer and DE shop in the galaxy. Yes even peepsio's dealers. i threw out the highest and lowest prices, then sorted through each type of droid and chose what i believed was the fairest price. then compared that against the cost of raw materials to make each droid/item and came up with a list of the fairest prices i could make.

Now this is not to say that i dont compete with other DEs. If someone says i only have 38k and im charging 45k i will probably sell him the droid for 38k. i would rather sell at a discount to someone who needs the droid, and have him come back for batteries and maybe even another droid later. Also if someone says that my prices are too high or too low, I may do some more research and reset my prices accordingly.

I dont charge per module but do charge per droid. modules are relatively cheap and sometimes are difficult to calculate the actual cost of making them . so this is what i do.

Example: customer wants an r3 Pilots asto droid with max data storage.

the finished cost on this is 60k period.

I have done the math and will make a profit, there are 6 lvl 6 data modules (factory made), an advanced r3 droid frame (that i have already mass produced) and a few misc. resources etc..

with the factory made parts i can put one of these together in about 5 minutes.60k in my opinion is plenty for these droids. and i even have charged less depending on the circumstances.

As far as the Probot is concerned I make a mine right now with 3000+ HAM/350+ CR/ and Auto repair 17

they sell like hotcakes at 60k. i dont intend to change that price anytime soon, but when i figure out how to make a 3200HAM model i will add 20k to it.

Remember that the goal is to make credits, it doesn't matter how YOU choose to make them. whether you specialize in a specific type of droid, make all types of droids, factory make your droids in mass quantity, or customize each and every one from raw material to finished product.

And NEVER forget this is a game ... HAVE FUN!!! fill a pack with swiss army droids or harvester MSE's and give them to noobs they will look you up if they ever needa combat droid. and you get to see them flip cause someone GAVE them a droid.

Be safe...

And may the force be with you.
