Thread: any MDE's actually use the lvl 6 modules? or just double up on the 4's?

Sorry if it seemed I was flaming in reply. I didn't mean for it to come out that way either.

What I was trying to do was point out that I only listed one possible droid configuration that needed level 6 modules. Yes, you were able to work around it, but only by altering the configuration*. There are plenty of other configurations I could list where you can't simply work around it. Sure, some of those configurations might seem a little forced (Data modules are sort of useless currently and storage doesn't work in medical droids) but my guess is that as time goes on and bugs are fixed you'll see more value in those configurations as well (I'm sure there would be a big market for Surgical Droids with Medical-6, Storage-6, and Chemical Crafting if Storage-6 worked in Surgical Droids).

In the end, I know there are times when I am going to be unable to stack modules. Because of that I make level 6 versions (and yeah, it took a long time to find the lidium ore to make the storage). Since I have the modules and since I don't anticipate running out of the critical resources any time soon (I harvested enough lidium ore to make several thousand Storage-6 modules) it seems pointless to stack 2 level 4 modules even when it is possible.

*To me going from a basic R2 to an advanced R2 constitutes more than a minor step since you have added the possibility of crit failing not only on the final assembly but on the chassis assembly as well, nearly doubling the odds of losing quite a few valuable components.

I know it is silly, but I drop an L6 armor module into my advanced surgical droids too... and they only have one armor slot.

I wouldn't want a gust of wind to kill it in one shot, you see...

Another example is the basic R4 and R5 droids, which have a single slot, also.

I will make "storage enhancers" out of those droids, with a single L6 item storage mod in them.

Of course, when I sell such a thing, I try my darndest to get the customer to upgrade to this nice shiny advanced R2 - has the storage PLUS the crafting station of your choice, data storage, a droid repair module, AND it has a 110 medical rating... and only 20K extra!

I use Level 6 Dataand Armor modules (when I have a few crates of composite segments, that is). I'd use Level 6 Med and Item Storage modules if the necessary resources actually spawned. (Been playing since July, haven't seen Duralumin aluminium or Lidium extrusive ore on Kett yet... and the local resource mogulsdon't have any either)

I don't stack cluster modules either, I just pack as many modules in a droid as possible... people can have more than one droid anyway, better to keep 'em specialized.

But can't you do that by adding 2 lvl 4 modules into a socket cluster , taking that cluster and add it into another cluster with 2 level 4 item storage modules , then taking that cluster and adding it into a cluster with a crafting station?

sure , you're using more resources , but you don't need 45 of each type of stee.

Do use this bug is considered an exploit. Beside this, as someone else mentioned, Droids which use this exploit will not work, once they correct it. So youare not only an exploiter, but also sell garbage toyour customers which will not work inthe near future.

I use always lvl 6 modules. Havent seen any of that extrsusive ore for storage modules, so there i use 2xlvl 4 modules. Don't care if lvl 6 modules take more resources as i mine all resouces by myself.

well i've had this theroy about why they havent fixed the cluster module bug for awhile. you see, DEs are so broken and worthless that the exploit doens't make any real difference. it's really quiet sad.

Amen. Fix the cluster bug with all other bugs. In the meantime, who cares as long a you don't nest clusters in clusters. Two clusters in a probot actually make them useful to people.

Lvl 6 mods are the way to go. If you have chasis in a crates and lvl 6s in crates too, it's just click click click and the droid is ready. I ran out of parts last night but hada huge order to fill. Ugh it was a pain to manually craft them.

I dont use lvl 6 data modules cause of the gas. Then again, I dont even market data modules anyway since they're useless.

Since I have been able to make level 6 modules there has never been any lidium ore. So I make my 10 item storage with 2 L4s. 110% medicals I use L6. Armor I use L6.

Cluster modules in a droid socket I do and I disagree that it is an expliot. I DO agree that it is not logical, but the description cleary says it fits a variety of sockets.

Cluster modules in cluster modules I don't.But why would you want to? Is 6 modules really not enough?
