When I did a stint as a MCM, I saw this all the time. There were people Ijust couldn't get to in time, for whatever reason. This droid can help to buffer that situation. I'd have used one if I could, at thetime...

This could buy a few extra seconds. I really think that this is how it was intended to be used.

So do I.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: SWG droids exist to supplement skills not replace them.

Well said....exactly.

If you are buffed to 3k this droid isn't for you. If you are buffed you are a combat professional, and combat professionals need medical professionals to keep them alive. This droid is for the rest of us.

I'm never buffed. I rarely ever fight. I have zero medical skills. This droid is for people like myself - primarily crafters - who occasionally need to fight to clear an area around a harvester. For me, this will be a godsend.

It has a limited audience just like the Survey Droid. There are a lot of people who think the new Survey Droid is useful, but there are also a lot of us who are very disappointed with its limited abilities. This droid is no different - the Devs' intended audience is obviously not what most players think it is.

Gee, I don't see much misunderstanding in this thread, just argument about whether it is a valuable product.

And remember, this isn't a droid it is a module that can be combined with other modules unlike the survey droid. I think how valuable this module is depends on how it fits into the total product. Different combinations will sell to different folks.

Doc had a good idea, cheap healer droids for newbs. Only problem is they can't be sold loaded except in person, and the only newbs that have any money are twinks. Somewhat limited audience, twinks of characters with serious medical skills, but it does exist.

[BTW for those unfamiliar with the term, a twink is a new character being run up in skills by another one, either an alt or close personal friend, slightly pergorative in some contexts. Twinks aren't as common in SWG because of the one-character-per-server rule.]

I think it also has value as one component for a Master Doc's service droid. Only one is needed since he can reload it at will, and it is a minor supplement to his skill. He has to have one out much of the time anyway.

It looks like a good component to an artisan's guard droid. You can sacrifice one combat module's kill capacity for it. If the DPS rating of the finished droid is as non-linear as some have reported, this may not be a big loss.

Does the ownerget experience for the heals? If so twink medics could use one in their droid especially at low levels when the healing is slow. Several modules needed for speed and capacity.

It is all about product design, which just got a whole lot more complicated for DEs.

Maybe they should have tinkered this a bit and made the implementation of a medical module increase the heal power of the stim?

/shrug

I havent built one yet, serious time issues as I watch all that potential income float to other DE's

But Im thinking one of these little helpers could help a group without med use more than a single user, or like said before during survey macros, dance macros etc. (which is a great idea I never thought of, BTW kudos)

But if Im solo and I see a potential bad situation. ie Rogue Faamba parked by my factory. Id much rather pull a combat R3 and have him tank while I repair him witha droid repair tool, than tank for my heal droid! My repair tools heal droids better than a stim a can heal me.
