Well then I'd like it to be part of the question as to why their position changed. While extra droids in the datapad has never been addressed by the Devs, late last yearwhen they nerfed pets to +1 for everyone at a time we were told that DE's would be among the group (that included high ranking faction officers) that would see pets added during our respective revamps.
They specified utility droids, and if either a check was made that you either cannot call two droids with combat modules at once, or if you can the combat modes do not function, I don't see any exploitability in this.
The worst that could happen? We could repair our own droids? Wow...watch out Galaxy, the DE's will exploit ourselves into the most powerful beings in the Galaxywith that one...

Actually, have in 6 auto-repair adv R3 covering a 5 module probot would probably be unkillable for the 30 minutes of the battery.

The devs tried using this excuse for vehicles once. Said us having more than one in our datapad made it too eacy to farm missions quickly. It's complete BS. Having more droids is not going to make us Uber, having 50 more inventory slots (for DEs who get 10 droids) is not going to crash the database. I have 7 factories with 100-200 items in each one (100 per hopper). Haven't seen a dev complain about that....
Funny, the next patch they quietly upped us to 3 vehicles....
