I still think that at least repair kit A's and B's should be useable by everyone. I have no problem with rebuild kits (I assume these are the same as current reconstruction kits) being DC use only. I'm not keen on droids being buffable because I think this makes them too similar to creatures. Let the creatures have some advantages and let droids have others.


I like some of the suggestions in the Tactics Tree (I would just name it Droid Tactics rather than AntiDroid Tactics though), namely the EMP Weapon, Systems Jamming Device and Virus. I would suggest one modification though:


EMP Weapon: Disables all droids in area of effect for a period of time. Droid that uses EMP is disabled for same period of time, plus the battery must be replaced.


On the programming tree I think it would be great if it was actually possible to program droids with a small interpreted command language. Imagine something like:



if: owner.health < 200 and target.range < 25
then: overload


I think this would be one way to really differentiate between droids and creatures, but on the down side it would be the only in game skill that was tied to out-of-game skills. Those of us who are really programmers would have a big advantage.I'm alsonot sure if this belongs in DC or DE. I can certainly see an advantage in a Droid Engineer being able to do:



target random
until: target.range < 20
do: follow
merchant_bark


or



if: health < 100
then: store


I think you could steal Dakar-Naritus' Suppression Shot and Tactical Shot ideas and mix those in with your current programming abilites. This would allow you to push a couple of abilities into the Master Box as well.

Yeah, great thread. I have to admit, I'm not too thrilled with the repair portion, but electonic counter measures or jamming ideas really sound good to me.

would also be cool if the source for jamming codes came from data disks looted off of NPCs. These codes would have to be general and specific to a certain function, but would be a neat subcomponent for that DEs could use when crafting a jamming data disk to be inserted into the droid prior to combat or whatever. Data disks would be a neat craftable item by DEs or artisans anyways, different data disks could hold data like schematic (text not actual usable schematic like to let people know what goes into a product), wp, weap/droid/creature/armor stats, or a message.


I think disks are neat way to go as far as adding any post crafting functions to droids.

My idea instead of being able to buff droids it have craftable power up's (like they have for weapons), that can be used on droids.


They could cover attack and defence stats and work similar to the current weapon power ups.

/agree if the repair tree is removed. All people should be able to heal their droids, (its the same for pets).

The droid battery should be moved to novice DE, why? because where do you find droid batteries? in a DE's vendor. The majority of people that sell batteries (with exception of the occasional bazaar listing by a noob) are the ones selling droids.

I like the idea of jamming and viruses, maybe make them kinda like CM, a DE makes the virus, the DC throws it at some enemy droids, the virus effect happens, then the droid's built-in antivirus cleans up and the droid is back to normal. (Dont make it as exploitful as CM though, since when can something be thrown through a wall?)

Right now, combat droids are toys that can shoot, their stats dont impress anyone that has ever been a CH or BE. The relationship between a CH and BE is simple, the CH use the animals the BE's make, why can't DE and DC be the same? We dont have to be a metalic CH clone, but this is one of the few ways the devs will allow us CL70 droids. Just even out the skill mods (make every tree and master useful in some way).

I don't mind giving up rifleman if I can be a DC and DE (to build and command droids).
Oh, and limit droid calls to 3, the devs won't bother with anything higher.

I like this idea, but I have a question...


who said it was even possible to have a 2tree profession? Is this even possible? I would think they have to make it 4 trees, because all the other professions are 4 trees. anyway, im just curious, no need to flame me, if you could point me in the direction where TH or someone said 2 trees were possible...

one of the devs said a two tree profession was possible (runesaber I think, though it might have been JustG). I'm more in favor of a 4-tree profession myself otherwise you end up with a gimped profession right off the bat.

Oh my goodness me! A two tree droid commander profession being gimped! Dang, if what you say is true Jenden, gimme the four tree one anytime!

Hmm, does anyone actually know what the devs intended the droid commander skill tree to look like before it got KO-ed?? TK? Drashk? Anybody?
