Damn. Does that mean we have to move to Tatooine?
"If you can not accept my support for you, then I suppose I directed my posotive and constructive criticism in the wrong direction. I will hence forth take my comments to a more appreciative group of players."
Is this supposed to be an example of that?
Sorry, I just found that other thread hilarious. They really didn't like being described as useless, did they?
Poor you. Trying that around here, you would've gotten "SOE doesn't care" or something similarly inspiring from some poster and no one would really have been offended by the whole "your prof's useless".
Butthe ID's did!
And another thing the ID's did, was get a red-named madepost not only ONCE, but *gasp* TWICE.
So after having my fun (which hopefully isn't too subtle, nor offensive. I WAS honestly amused by the way their first priority was defending their profession rather than actually commenting on the ideas, probably after hanging around here for a while
), on to a more serious note:
I agree completely with what Jenden said, except two things:
I don't blame them for not posting here.
The best analogy to describe the current DE-Dev relations, was probably something AO said somewhere around here "When they accuse this forum of having a bad "tone", that's sort of like yelling at the dog you abuse and don't feed because of his hungry barks."
A smart dog is on the intelligence level of a human three-year old. The fact that one of the more suitable analogies puts DE's as a group into the intelligence area of three year olds, is both laughable and frightening. Because that IS a one of the best ways to describe the way we're behaving here. So, I agree the level of so-called constructive discussion this forum has puts it in to a pit. They don't want to shift through page after page of ranting and sarscasms on their part.
On the other hand, and here I actually disagree: If we're unable to raise the level of OUR discussion, they shouldn't be not-talking to us, but trying to figure out how to help us. Right now, we talk but most of it isn't useful, and as a result, they don't talk at all, and we're at a stand still. Even if we're the ones who started behaving like kids, the "I won't talk to you" attitude isn't exactly the grown way.
Shortversion; I don't blame them for getting sick and tired of our endless rants/sarcasms and verbal jabs in their direction, but I do blame them for sitting there and thinking that not saying anything at all will help.
I'm just hoping with the good deal of recent DE turnover the tone shifts a bit more positive as many of those who are always negative leave.
I don't think the fact that we loose people will solve anything, since we loose people we need. If a vocal member capable of expressing opinions, even if we can be mean and generalizing and call them negative, leaves, it also means we loose someone with the energy and capabilities to argue points and not just rant.

Heh, you did that on the other thread about the tightfisted deal also.
That's cause I want you all to know that there IS information flow happening. I don't want you all to be saying that there's silence occurring cause it's simply not the case. It just hasn't quite made its way to everyone yet.
I suspect this will happen soon, though. How soon? I don't know...I'm trying to find out. Keeping you all in the loop as much as I can is my goal.
I think DiLune would agree...this is a strong list that's been put up for Publish 8....especially for us.
Quit tickling our sphyncters and tell us something or, stop teasing us.
I've only yet begun to tease.
Respectfully,
Nah, they are going to import the sand. This will give smugglers more content.

They don't post on here because every time they do they get flamed to all hell... If they give us any bit of information and it either doesn't end up happening for one reason or another or the information isn't to our liking (even if it is good info for us) the only thing they get in return is flames and rants. I don't blame them for not posting here.
See, that's funny, because as it was explained to us when he was hired, it's TH's JOB to post here and keep the lines of communication open. It's his JOB to sort out the valuable data from the noise. He and his bosses are supposed to be professionals, and not worry about the noise while gathering important data.
No, I don't think they're doing much of a job these days. I'm just insulted by any attempt to say that the lack of communication is somehow the customer's fault ... if they can't handle the heat, get somebody else to work the kitchen.

Here's the trick. TH has a limited amount of time to get stuff done (stuff in this case being communication). There are 32? professions that each need attention. The most attention will go to those that can constructively get things done quickly. Its a matter of efficiency. If TH can get info from the ID's or the SL's in one focused post, that is good efficiency. If he has to dig through a post with every other post being a flame/rant, that will be inefficient.
Jenden wrote:
Granted this could be all that he's doing, but my bet is there's a lot going on on the correspondent board. Thats where all the real communication goes on. From there TK brings us whatever news/info he can. He's already said he's been getting some info from TH, so it sounds to me like he's not just slacking off on the job.
I still do not believe it will live up to the marketed size of the "Droid Invasion." If this next publish proves to be as lacking as the previous, I probably will cancel my account.

To be fair, you don't know what we have yet.
Ya know TK, I have not been negative towards you in the pastbecause I know you have a tough job. I can't let this one pass. I have been here reading and posting since the very begining. I have seen all manner of posts from every side of every issue.
This is the most asinine (1) thing I have EVER seen posted from someone who should know better.
Thereare hundreds of post pleading for nothing more than communication and information. You dang right we don't know. You can't or won't tell us, and the DEVs won't tell us. And don't give me that line about them being afraid to tell us. It just don't wash.
Quit being such a apple polishing sycophant (2) and fix it. A post like that is nothing but troll bait, and it seriously erodes any credibility you have left.
- Asinine: 1) Utterly stupid or silly: asinine behavior.2) Of, relating to, or resembling an ass.
- Syncophant: 1) A servile self-seeker who attempts to win favor by flattering influential people.
