I, alas, do not know the answer to your question. However I am curious as to the answer myself, can any other rangers help us out?

the harvesting droid is really only useful at lower levels. a master ranger + veghash will consistently outharvest a droid that has a harvesting chip if grouped.
ungrouped, the time it takes to tell a droid to harvest + the droid running scared at the first hint of a fight does not usually make the droid worth it at the master levels.
also, the droid was developed before the harvesting boost, so its still stuck in the past.
a novice scout looking for high levels of organics to be harvested, will find this droid useful.. but once you get up to the master scout area.. then not so much.
