A lot of people, as you start to find out, dont care if it does 110 medical.

A lot of people also don't realize that the medical rating works as a direct percentage to their heals so that anything below 100 means they heal for LESS with the droid out than they do without it.

Sometimes I have trouble selling droids and other times I don't. That's just the way the game is.

I am surprised to see so many DEs using the general socket cluster exploit. On the server I play on pretty much all MDEs no longer use that exploit/cheat and you know what? We can all sell quite a bit of droids. Most MDEs that I know can hardly keep up with the sales.

There are two reasons why droids should not have every module installed. First of all because it make no sense at all. The devs surely never intended that to work and everybody who feels otherwise is a fool. Second, people will be forced to have more than one droid if there is limited space. I know lots of people on my server that have several droids, which in turn makes us DEs very happy and wealthy.

So by using this exploit you only cheat yourself. Don't complain about a lack of income...

Well, you see, not everyone agrees that it's an exploit. I'm one of them. Personally I won't stack clusters in themselves, but I'll certainly use them in any chassis type. In particular, I do it for the item storage because Lidium Extrusive has never appeared on Bria yet, so it's the only way to get a decent item storage when limited by the number of items. For example, I'll sell a probot with med and item storage using the cluster to get 10 item storage in one slot, and med in the other.

I personally have nothing against the people who actually use this exploit or bug. As long as the devs don't fix it there will always people that use it. But what I saying is that by using it you don't help yourself. Yes, you can sell your droids for a little bit more but without using them you sell twice as many droids. This is at least how it works on shadowfire.

Also many people use it because the do not have lidium ore. Guess what, there is none on my server either. But as stated above many people use it and then put another module into that third slot. So you get a probot with a crafting station, 10 item storage and a medical module. If it really were only about the lidium ore you'd leave that third slot empty.

But I guess there will always be two sides on this point until the devs decide to officially end this discussion by either fixing it or by stating that it is intentional.

I'm another one that doesn't consider this exploiting a bug... At least not in the standard sense of the term...

First off, Yes, The slot says "Droid Service Module Harness" and I'm sticking a "General Module Socket Cluster" in it, but this "bug" has been around for the life of the game... The way the devs love to squash any bug that players exploit leaves me to believe that this is intentional in some way... They know DE's are FUBAR'd, and are "overlooking" this exploit to help us in business...Maybe a General Module Socket Clusteris a Service Module Harness, but a Service Module Harness isn't a General Module Socket Cluster (It happens all the time... A Polymer is a chemical, but a chemical isn't always a Polymer)

Secondly, this forum has very strict rules on "bug exploit" posting... Making any post in a forum explaining how to exploit a bug is a ban-able offense around here... The thread gets locked and deleted at first glance... Gorantoth has had this listed in the bug list formonths, and noone seems to care.

Finally, We've asked for clarification from the devs on this one time and time again... None of them will touch this with a 10 foot pole... They don't fix it, they don't tell us not to use it, they don't even tell us if it was intentional or not. Why?

I never have been nor never will be a cheater/hacker/exploiter or min-maxer in any game I've ever played. This example seems to me like the Devs want it in there for some reason or another... And until I hear a Dev response telling me this is not how they intend it to work at this stage in the game, I'll continue using it.

Well, hopefully more sales will occur because of the rumor a shuttleport will require a protocol droid.

Hehe, that reasoning doesn't wash.

Look at the R2 Adv:

1 optional General Droid Module Socket Cluster
2 optional Droid Service Module Harness

If a GMSC is an SMH, thenwhy have both designations in the same schematic?
You can place a GMSC in any SMH slot.
Why have two designations at all?

I think that either the devs decided let's not bork a borked profession.
OR
Not much has been done to fix the DE profession, so this is just one more thing that didn't get fixed.

I don't have much of a problem with people trying to equipe droids the way they should be able to if everything wasn't so messed up - 10 Item Storage or 110 Med.

I do have a problem with people equipping 'super' droids, esp a combat droid, with every conceivable module - every crafting station, medical, repair, item, data, etc - so that players only ever have to buy one droid.

They're killing the entire droid market for themselves and everyone else.

So in that case, thanks, from all of us.....

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."
