Yes, and it's my biggest simple complaint about the DE profession.
Unless you have a guildmate/brother/best friend who is a MA, it's hard to get the quantities of parts we need. It comes down to how many you use - and I go through 1000 MA parts a day when I'm working DE. Just not easy to find someone to make that many parts, and such a pain.
My only other option is to grind up a second account, but that seems a bit desperate.

Any DE who happens to be a MA could take advantage of the situation to provide parts to DEs who don't want to waste the skill points on MA. It's my plan for as long as I can be a MA. When I need the skill points MA goes, hopefully I'll have jumpstarted the economy by then.
The big problem is convincing MAs who aren't DEs how important these components are to the droid engineer profession. Every MA I run into focuses on powerups.

Yep... and if I use a little vaseline, I might be able to get to Master Rifleman too, without giving up all my merchant and scout exploration skills.
