Doh Raige
LancerDL,
I agree we have a right to be mad, but I wish you could explain to me the problem with auto storage of droids. I have not used a droid in combat yet, so I may just not see the problem. I do have a CH character. One of the major complaints on the CH boards was that a pet could get incapped, thus losing vitality. Then, as soon as it revived, it could get incapped again, and again, and again. Each time, losing more and more vitality. I see this auto store as a fix for that problem.
Do we not have the same problem with Droids? If we do, does not the same fix help us? Sorry to be dense, but when I heard about this, I THOUGHT it was a good thing. I wish someone could explain it to me.
Thanks.
And you all thought that thatinability to build droids in the last major patch was a bug. They were guaging the resistance to droids being unbuildable. Just watch, just like last time, a couple days from now droids will not be craftable again. When it's determined that the resistance level to uncraftable droids has fallen enough, the DE profession will be removed. It will besupplanted by a Twilight Zone version of Star Wars where rancors and grauls battle for GCW supremacy, everyone owns a kaadu or carrion, and there's no such thing as a droid...

Are the droids still permadeath? I haven't been keeping up with it.
If so, non-CH pets are still cheaper, and last a heck of a lot longer. DEs still need some Dev lovin', even if the CL is reduced.
This game is unbelievably biased toward the least Star Warsy profession in the game. Son ofa bitch.
It isn't going to get better with the "next big patch (TM)" either. Vehicles are their main focus, and while it looks like DEs will be able to make them, so will every other tech crafter in the game, they're using the Eng line of artisan to make those. I guarantee there will be no substantive fixes for DE in the patch, they're still asking us questions about **edit** we told them in June (and before), and then come to us with plans pulled out of their ass that in no way reflect any of the thousands of recommendations we've made. They don't even look at the gorantoth compilation Q3PO promised they were baseing their bug searches on.
I've got to go before I kick my poor useless astromech again.

Graeme,
In the situation you outlined, it is a good idea that it will automatically store itself otherwise it would be depleted out of existance (practically). This is a situation both droid engineers and creature handlers benefit from.
However, in a situation where your pet dies once, yet you kill the enemy shortly afterwards, you thenhave the option to heal it before it returns to your datapad. This saves you having to camp or travel to some place to call your pet once again. Currently there is no way to heal a droid, so you do not have this second option at all. Ie: You are forced tocamp or travel somewhere, whereas someone with a creature can choose to revive their pet. It is further an advantage for the Creature Handlers over Droid Engineers.
This does not even mention the fact that the only way for your droid to recover white damage is to wait an hour or more.
Invariably, Creature Handlers get more profit potential whereas DEs get nothing. And when CH gets nerfed, we get nerfed with them. Just about every big patch has done nothing for us, or caused us more grief.

Is that when they change the name of the game to Star Trek?
Thanks for the response, but now I am even more confused. You admit that we have no way, other than storing the incapped droid to heal it. So how is it a bad thing for that to happen automatically. I know you will need to make a camp to call it out again, but you would have to do that if you stored it to heal any way.
Yes I realize that CHs are getting way to much gravey compared to DEs. You have absolutely no argument from me there.

I am so goddamn pissed right now. Logging into the game and seeing Creature Handlers making 150k per f*cking Kaduu and Carrion Spat. Alot more for the other mounts.
Yeah, my jealousy is petty but I am sick of this. First they nerf my probot and give CHs the business, and now they just give them more business.
I tell you what, they better come up with something amzaing that makes me more than 8 goddamn **edit**ing thousand credits an hour.
**edit**. I am ready to quit this **edit**ing game.
/agree
I'm so sick on the P0k3m0n wars that go in this game. I'm done with droids as of this Saturday until they give us a reason to actually make a droid.
Okay.
I'm going to get a Cowardly Gurreck pet.
And shove a food crafting station module up it's butt.
There, ye happy now!
