Thread: Another DE Revamp

I have total mixed feeling about this alleged revamp. On one side, I am excited because change is good and our profession has needed a good remodeling for a while. On the other, I am terrified about the possibility of turning us upside-down like they did with the WS and AS classes.

Ultimately, I will adapt to the changes. It will be interesting to see if they incorporate any of the ideas we've been chatting about around here for a while.

We were supposed to have had a "Droid Handler" Profession like Creature Handler but for droids. The Devs had this set up as a way for people to have droidekas and super battle droids.


We in the droid professions shot this down pretty hard arguing that droids should be for everyone, you don't need anything special to control a droid. There was also talk of merging DE and Droid Handler but that would have destroyed our weak market so we fought that too. SOE said ok I guess the only droids you want for everyone is the ones you already have i.e. R3 and probots cause we feel droidekas and battle droids need to cost skill points or are unbalancing for regular players just to have...


So super battle droids and battle droids only got introduced into the game as NPCs on things like the corvette and DWB. The droid revamp pretty much died and instead of a bunch of awesome content we got a vastly reduced revamp. Like the other poster said, it was more like an abortion. The devs I think were so mad that we shot down the idea they really havent been back to help us since. All because we wanted droids for everyone.
