Thread: Eclipse Server, Market Forecast for the New Droid Features...
I agree for the most part with this post. I would have been vary happy to be part of a hybrid class. Would have been able to get my fix of both crafting and combat, and would have actually given the DE a purpose and roll in the GCW. I do understand why a pure crafter would not like things to be this way. And obviously your voices were louder than ours, and you seem to be getting your way. Congrats!
But, you will see. The game will not be able to add enough content to make a pure crafter happy for long.
Oh, by the way. The BE has a vary important roll with chefs and tailors for good crafting, and has a necessary roll with base takedowns in the GCW.
The Devs should have listened to their hearts and not the community on this one. Only a small percentage of players actually read these boards and that percentage just made the decision for the whole class.

If they had plopped in a combat droid leaving the class as is, every other crafting profession would have been screaming for a high level pet as well. The only way to do it fairly is to have certs inserted into every profession requiring skill points to gain the droids, or the seperate droid handler class which may eventually happen anyway.
