Thread: Probot Update from Test Center....
Isn't this worse than what we have now? The attack speed on the probot's I've built has been 1.5 or so. So 50 every 1.5 seconds is 33dps whereas 70(the average here) every 2.44 seconds is 29. This doesn't seem to be an improvement to me.

Attack Speed 2.44

Here is another update from the Test Center. I now am a 3/0/2/4 Novice Droid Engineer and will be hitting 3/2/2/4 in the next few hours. I just made my first Advanced Probot with my 5 boxes of experimentation. Most of the parts that I used had an mechanical rating of -4 to -6 due to the horrid resources that I have at the moment. Being that Calous is less than two weeks old, I am lucky to have the amount of resources that I do have currently. Anywho...
I combined it all together and ended up with an Experimental Effectiveness of 45% this time around. What I ended up with is....
Difficult Level 10
Health 822
Action 822
Mind 822
Attack Speed 2.42
To Hit 0.22
Damage 70 - 80 (70 - 86)
As you can see from the earlier version, the HAM has increased as per normal. The speed has dropped by .02 points, the to hit has increased by .01 and the max damage has increased by 1 point. Not that great of an improvement from the Experimental Effectiveness of 20%.There is hope however, sinceI'm still climbing theTrees andhave 5 more Experimentation points to gain. The problem that I am running into now isthat I'm running out of credits and resources faster than I cangain them. Hitting Master DE in two weeks, which is my goal, takeit out of thebank account =).
Something that I forgot to mention in my previous posts is that it appears that all of the droids have recieved a bit of an update. 45 HAM droids are now all Level 1, 68 HAM droids are Level 2 and so on. I've onlyhad the ability, and resources to builda couple of Probots,MSE,a DZ70, and a LE. After I grind a few hundred more ADFs I'm going to try and make a R4, in order to see if any thing has been changed with them.
One thing that I wasthinking of earlier, while buildingmy newest Probot, was that if the Level : HAM ratio staystrue to form, thenthe Advanced BLL will be considered a DifficultyLevel 12 Droid, which is over the CL10 max. I hopeI am wrong, ornot only would the armored BLL-board be pointless, itwould also be unusable =(

auto store is really a pain ...but who cares huh ?
I've made a DZ70, only dedicated to advertising people ( his name looks like " Tell-Elixatha-ForDroid" ). So with this autostore, i can destroy it. And in this case, what happends to the command like "patrol" "get patrol point" and "clear patrol point" ? It makes no sense if theses commands are always available. It seems that a devs talked about keeping theses commands, should i understand that decision were necessary ? i don't think so, it's just another nerf...
I've never posted here, i'm master DE on Kauri and working on the DE profession since the release of SWG. I've always shut my mouth after nerfs and bugs, believing in a brighter day for us. I'm sure all the upcoming changes for us will be interresting, but i'm very disappointed with this change
Elixatha
Master DE on Kauri
PS : sorry for my poor english speaking.
I AGREE 100%. I use my droid to run patrols and to stand watch in certain places sometimes. I think it adds to the feel of the game. It bothers me a great deal that we're losing this ability.
1) We've already lost the ability for the droids, (and pets), to remain in the world after log-off, and this means that my protocol droid doorman, Charles, has no function now as his only purpose was to stand outside of my door and occasionally talk to me and greet the customers.
2) Now, if our droids fail to remain everpresent even when we're logged-in, then I won't be able to run my mouse droid through town, advertising.
This is a step backward from the idea that droids should eventually be able to run missions for the players.
I would like to know if this change will apply to newly complete probots only. I have several Advanced probot frames that I have stored on my R3 in item storage. (I can quickley craft one then for a customer). Will the patch affect newly created probots? What about my prepatch Advanced Probot Frames? I quess I may just have to wait and see what happens!
Good work Dashk

This change was discussed when the CH changes were first proposed. The devs dropped them because too few people use them. Graciously, CHs will now be able to command pets to use special attacks rather than the pets just using them randomly. DEs will no longer get patroling droids and neither will out customers. There goes the market for BLLs.
"Then why do they have the Correspondant Terminals on Test Center so that the profession correspondants can instantly make themselves Masters of the profession they correspond for?"
Let's see, it could be:
1 - for them to test things and verify problems that players post about, or
2 - to get information so that lazy players don't have to do anything for themselves.
Hmm, which of these?
1) What happens when it gets stuck and you want to go back to get it?
2) What good is the patrolling option now? (for just patrolling or for walking billboards?)
3) If you befriend a droid to someone will the droid store if you wander too far away? What good is "befriend" then?
Does anyone know WHY they're changing this?

This new "feature" of having droids store when you're what, 75m away from them bothers me too. Here's a few reasons, some that have been expressed before.

Here's something that happens to me frequently: I'm out fighting monsters with my probot, and 'get behind the curve', so to speak, and have to run away. For me to get out alive, I frequently have to run 250+ meters away. Now, what happens to my pets if they autostore? I have to wander back to civilization, that's what. Otherwise, I wander back near the mob, wait for the pets to wake-up, and get them.
Here's another good one, courtesy of this nerf plus a little bit of lag.
I was out tending harvesters on my trusty Carrion Spat, Spork. Rode up to my fleet of fusions and dismounted... and Spork promptly auto-stored. See, the SERVER thought that Spork was about 200 meters behind me as I dismounted because of all the @*&%*! lag.
I guess Novice Scout is a required skill for everyone now if you want to be able to use pets or droids.
Or vehicles. Vehicles can only be called in cities or in camps, not in structures. Yay!

Thanks for all the info Drashk,
I was considering giving up, even though I am now so close to Master DE. I didn't think waiting until December was acceptable, and I just don't have fun playing the game these days. It feels like I live to support all my buildings, but these changes could add some more business potential. Currently it's hard to sell to people who have specialized in combat.

Jabetha - the correspondent's job isto be aliason between players and Devs, particularly on bugs, not to test and provide info to players on in-game functions.
Actually, the devs gave correspondents a terminal on TC to insta-level to Master so they could test and provide info to players on in-game functions.
I think Sintrosi has done a fairly good job with his duties, but I'm led to believe he's gone in another direction in the game, and is sticking with the correspondent stuff out of a sense of duty more than a lingering passion for the profession.
