Thread: Probot Update from Test Center....
Very nice to hear this. Now some of these experimenation tapes can be put to use! ![]()
Thanks for this excellent work and info, Drashk. Can we get the definitive word on probot experimentation from a MDE on the TC? I'd like to see what lvl 6 armor is like and what a high %age experimented probot is like. Hopefully it will have higher damage, although this boost is nice. (still not inline with carrion-spat, but thats probably ok given the armor)
This is totally awesome. The end of cookier cutter probots! I just got in 175k of some AWESOME chem to use too.
I'm making the full scale pitch on new probots to everyone. It's time for an upgrade!!!
Hmm, if legacy probots are lvl 16, does that mean they are unusable by all? That would be MAJOR sales. I don't wish it on my customers, though good for them that they will be able to upgrade.
We are at the turning of the tide, my DE brothers and sisters. Dec, Jan and Feb patches will right the wrongs of the no-DE-luv past.

Isn't this worse than what we have now? The attack speed on the probot's I've built has been 1.5 or so. So 50 every 1.5 seconds is 33dps whereas 70(the average here) every 2.44 seconds is 29. This doesn't seem to be an improvement to me.
Good, math Dunje. My fingers are crossed for faster speed upon experimentation. Hopefully, this is evidence of that:

I built a second Advanced Probot, in hopes of seeing a Difference, however I had the same wonderful luck on the final combination and produced the same results, with the exception of the attack speed, which turned out to be 2.45 this time around.
If attack speed is variable as shown above, perhaps it can be improved.
/cross fingers
As a BE, I think the probot will stand a good chance of being the 1 pet players will use, most CL 10 animals may have a bit higher ham but armor is light to non existant. There maybe some with better resists, but I think the ranged attack for probot will do better than some of the CL 10 animals.
Altho mounts cld hurt as that counts as a pet and a player that lacks scout skills may just stick with mount as a fighting companion. Remember while vehicles will be used alot , u cant fight on them so some may stick with mounts when combat is involved.
But I can tell ya when more attack droids are out, I will be using them over my own BE pets when can.

I like the fact that experimentation will finally work but my biggest question is the following. Since you will be able to only pull one pet out at a time (as of last information I read) be it droid or creature. Will the updated probot even compare to a lvl 10 creature or are we still just having happy dreams of useful droids that people will buy? now if they do compare... I'll stock my shop with as many Adv Probots as possible... if not- I'll keep doing something that makes me even partially useful in this game... helping guildmates do missions
I don't see how they couldn't beat out a lvl 10 non-CH pet. as it is the current probots will take more damage than a lvl 15, and with an increase in the damage its even better. There are only 2 things that stand in the way of most people replacing creatures with droids, first, mounts. Vehicles will help with this but a mount is a good cross between a pet and a droid. Secondly, the fact that creatures being better than droids has been banged into their heads over and over for the past how many months? If we can get through these two barriers there won't be any competition (aside that from other DE's).
There aren't many Master Droid Engineers on the Test Center that I know of. Actually there are a total of two that I am certain or, Sintrosi and Imap'acca. I haven't seen Sintrosi around, so I've not been able to ask him to build one. I'll see if Imap'acca can help out and build one later today.
As to the damage to speed ratio that duncjementioned...
The Attack speed has increased by almost 70%; however the average damage that I have seenfrom myAdvanced Probot isaround 45 to 50. Here is an expample of the data that I collected with my Advanced Probot that is 2.44 @ 70 - 80 (70 - 85).
In 46 seconds time the Advanced Probot was able to fire 18 times during combat against two (a wandering kitonak). The following where the damage results to the two NPC mobs... 56, 65, - , - , 77, 60, 68, 64, 69, 40, 74, 56, 42, 70, 52, 67, - , & 40. This gives an average of 47 damage, when the misses are factored in, or 57 damage, without the misses factored in and shows a damage range of 40 to 77. The damage range alone is far better than the Probots currently on Live, which offsets the attack speed quite a bit.
I'll be working on Experimentation values today instead of Armor rating, since I'm more curious about the damage ratings then I am about the armor rating at this point...
As to the auto-stores effect on Droids that have been issued commands....
I just tested the stay and partol commands, to see if auto-store would have an effect on a droid that is commanded to stay in an area. On the stay trials, when I hit a maximum range of 100 meters the droid would store back to the datapad each time that I moved away. The Patrol command did function correctly at a distance of 500 meters, which is the furthest that I have traveled from the droid so far. I will be testing the patrol / auto-store issue today and let everyone konw about ti later in the day, when I give an update about the damage rates.
Finally, for those that are concerned about the new CL10 creature cap and how it will effect the enhanced Probot sales.....I turned in my Rock Beetle to the CH trainer and in return I recieved a Spiked Krevol with
900 HAM
Attack Speed 2.0
To Hit 0.28
Damage 90 - 110
No Armor
No Resists
None of the non-CH petshave an Armor rating and none of the pets that I have seen so far have any type of resists. The average HAM seems to be around 900 - 1200. Damage still seems to be higher than an un-altered Probot, as well as the to hit and speed. The Medium 40% rating, that a Probot can have, will put the Probot on top of the list for Tankables, for any non-CH. The one down fall is that you still can not heal a Droid; however with the reduced effectiveness of all non-CH pets now, a pet owner will be spending a lot of time healing their pets now.![]()
I'll keep everyone updated....
Forgot to mention something. in reguards to what Jendenmentioned in the above post.
When vehicles hit live, mounts will be in their wake. I have a mount and a Vehicle on TC and I haven't called out my pet since the vehicle patch came out. I can travel 1k in about 1.2 mintues while on a vehicle. Most people will chose the vehicles over mounts due to the speed factor. Mounts are great if you want a combat buddy and don't have any scouting ability, to call out a pet through the use of a tent, but how many non-CH currently use their mounts as a combat pet as well? All non-CH pets got hit hard in this patch, and for good reason. Probots actually are coming out as top dog on this update, believe it or not.
And as to the message that has been beaten into the heads of non-CH pet owners, in regards to Probots; they are going to take one look at the new non-CH creatures and realize that they suxor. Even with Light 12% armor that my Probot currently has, it is more than a match for any non-CH creature. I've tested it against someone elses non-CH pet and the Probot won in each battle, as long as the pet owner didn't heal their pets damage. I wanted to give everyone a heads up on the Probot situation, so that you can start pushing the idea of a decent quality tank that does a bit more damage now and will withstand much more punishment than any non-CH creature out there. A great selling point about a Probot and its ability to take more damage than any non-CH pet is.......you can't heal a non-CH pet when you're incapp'ed.
Then why do they have the Correspondant Terminals on Test Center so that the profession correspondants can instantly make themselves Masters of the profession they correspond for?

I have to say...
You are my hero.
This is one of the best posts that I've ever seen. Seriously. Good Form!!!!

yea, most people will see it this way, just putting out a heads up as to what could be working against us. And thanks much for the info. I spend way to much time playing as it is and I still can't put any time into a second character, or Iwould be on test center with you.
