Thread: Made DE in 3 to 4 days, but i dont know how to make a bot
Yanno, much like the original poster I grinded my new toon to MDE. I did not learn jack. I understand the basics of crafting high statistics in the right category make significantly better products.
I have lurked and interjected in this forum way before I was DE; mainly on the subect of DH. I came here shortly after mastering. Having read the FAQ to ask a question about module stacking. Some people were cool enough to answer. The other high and mighty DE one starred me. I can clearly reserve some compassion for the original poster. It is one thing to be told to view the FAQs then expirement. It is another to be told to take a flying leap in the Sarlacc Pit.
Some of you have stated this is for the betterment of the profession. You are clearly wrong. Because what you have now is two MDE that believe this forum is a useless way of gathering information from fellow DE and now we are out there trying to make the best product we can. As you can see we will be doing this without any guidance. Where is the betterment of the profession now? I may learn it on my own or I just may confuse the general public as to what in your own words "a real DE can do".
Let's be nice, okay? I've seen a lot of people flame on a new DE that came here trying to get help.
I understand the frustration of those that want to 'open up' on a new DE, when it appears that they are after a quick shortcut on the knowledge that many of us have had to build up over time. I know the tendency is to think, '___ that! Go learn it yourself, dude!!'
In some regard, that is true. You DO need to learn stuff for yourself...it's the best way to learn.
At the same time, I ask that the DEs here not instantly jump all over someone new just because they are asking for info or to be pointed in the right direction.
We owe it to each other to be a bit nicer than that. I think many would agree that the DE community is quite 'tight'. I'd hate to see us be some kind of pompous, anti-inclusive crowd. That's not right. We were all new at one point.
Anyway...
Just try to remember what it was like when you were new and needed some pointers. I'm not saying we have to spill EVERY bit of info on someone but don't dig out the flamethrower just because someone uses the term "robot".
By the way....................................someone out there in the world is getting to peep JTL right now.

I have no response to that except you big 'ol lucky furball.
I didn't mean me, silly. Just 'someone' (i.e. the press).
There are a couple of new movies posted on Gamespot but I can't view them. I don't sign up for that silly stuff. It will be easy enough to get in no time.

Respectfully,
Why is it I always get so easily confused by wookiees?

OK what sells, basically ANY DROID with ANY MODULE (well except data storage, but look for them to have a use in the space exspansion). As long as you put 1 level 6 or 2 level 4 armor modules on it.
R3s can hold 6 combat modules, put 3 each in combat clusters. The higher the rating the better, you will have to experiment with different resources, try copper with high OQ and high CON.
A big seller for me is R4s with crafting stations. I try and keep at least 2 R4s on my vendor each with one of the 4 crafting stations in it.
LE repair droids, with OQ 1000 chem you can make the final droid with a HAM of 6000, throw 3 combat modules in a combat cluster, put on a level 6 armor, and you have a hell of a tank,
Creature harvester droids. Throw 5 harvest modules and 1 level 6 item storage (make sure the harvest modules are the best you can make). Put them in to an R3 droid and you have a sure seller.
The problem is, unless you make and use each droid for yourself, you dont know how to market it. And marketing is HUGE. If you put a detailed description of your droid in the vendor, listing all its pluses and minuses, you will sell tons of droids. But you have to KNOW YOUR PRODUCT. If someone say to you "I want a medic droid", you better be able to describe what model and modules you can sell them, and this is a common request. I describe 3 or 4 droid combo's and end up selling them an R3 with Med 110% Food/Chem crafting 10 Item storage, and 3 Stim dispensers. Of course I let them know that : A) Can only hold Stim As, and B) you need Pharmacology 4 to load stims. They still buy them. Or if they are broke, they buy a Mouse with a 110% medical module.
But in order to sell your droids, you have to know your droids, and the only way to do that is to make alot of droids and test them out yourself.
Ok, no-one has said this yet so I will:
Is it time to let this thread slip away quietly? I think so. To anyone else wanting to call Tweek a moron etc... If you have a look around you will see that Tweek has made some reasonably good posts with direct questions since his initial posting got roasted. Now is the time to let this one disappear and treat him for his new questions when they appear... Just a thought.
