I am trying to name my R5 Astromech (intended for use in space). I do the usual method of naming, use four commands with the same beginning word. However, the name doesn;t take. I noticed that a few commands, such as attack and guard, are not available for me to rebind a new command to, and I think this may have soemthing to do with it. I have tried this in several different enviornments- outside, inside, even in my YT1300, and no luck.

It sounds like you're trying to use a name that is not allowed. Try naming that droid "Bob". If Bob works, then it's probably the name that your using. BTW, what name are you trying to use?

forgive me if this was mentioned somewhere but I didnt have time to read all the responses to this post.


Harvesting droids are doing somethign very strange.


My Ranger (3000) harvests 360u of hide from a creature. When she uses a harvesting droid she only harvests 165u from the same type/level of creature.


I didnt start using harvesting droids until last week but i'm pretty sure there isn't supposed to be a penalty for using them. I know that the bonus for using one is supposed to degrade as you go up in scout though.. but this is totally backwards imo.

Any word on an update Jenden? Can only sit back and not make Droids due to Armor and HAM issues so long.


Other issues are important, but HAM and Armor stops production. Meaning if Harvest modules give a good bonus, they will be retroactive to current Harv Droids.


We don't know if droids that we make now with "max" HAM and Armor, that arn't really maxed if they will convert over and work. Basically what I make now could be trash next week. HAM and Armor are my biggest concerns.

As of last night 6/7/05 I found that my harvest droid was not working right, and cutting my harvest by 1/3! I was using veghash as well. My husband and I have closeto the same scout skills and he was getting about 100 units more than me when I was using "Harvee". Once we started checking the numbers, I harvested a few times without the droid and was actually getting more than my husband. I couldn't figure out what the problem was, and even checked him and charged him, but nothing worked. So that led me to your forums here under DE, I'm glad I found it's a bug and I'm not loosing my mind! lol So with that.......Harvest droids are still broken!

Bugs:


1. When I pull out a droid in my medium naboo shop, not only can I not access my storage compartment, but it doesn't act as a private crafting station either. Also, once I've pulled out a droid with storage, I can't even access that storage if I go outside, I need to actually have called the droid from outside before I can use it.


2. droid repair kits. They are flakey as hell. I made a stack of droid repair kit D's. I put it on my toolbar. I used took out my probot, did some combat and was able to repair no problem. Yesterday I took out my probot, and had got into some combat, and no matter what I did whether it was target the probot and click on the repair kit from the toolbar, or open up my inventory and select "use" it refused to heal the probot. It gave me some cryptic message about "you can heal with that item" or some such nonesense. Then today again I was able to heal fine... grrrrr.


3. coloring bugs. I do a run of R5 droids, and I color it something like blue on white, and I make several crates of them. On some crates they come out correctly, but other crates are randomly colored (like solid puke green).


4. combat bugs. I'm still unsure what exactly is determining how it functions, but it's not functioning very rationally I can tell you that. Sometimes it does quite a bit of damage to a certain creature, sometimes it does a lot less to the same creature. Sometimes it seems to absorb an insane amount of damage from a low level creature, sometimes it doesn't. No clue at all what's going on at this point.


5. armor, 'nuff said


6. The stupid 75% battery thing. It *always* says that the battery life is 75%.


7. harvester droids. wohoo! give me a droid that reduces my harvesting by 75%. Awesome

Another one to add. I don't "think" it was like this before the CU, pretty sure the range was further. To detonate a Bomb Droid you need to be within 15 meters, this and the fact that you need to target the droid to blow him up (not new) limits their use a bit.

I think that's how it was pre-cu. You had to be within x meters to start the countdown. I'm not sure about needing to target the droid, though.

Yea I know you had to target the droid, but I don't remember the range being so short.

You can still detonate from long range, whatever that range is... at least 65m anyway. Also if you group with the droid you can still target the droid at long range by clicking on the group list.

How did you detonate it from long range? /DetonateDroid not using the radial menu would work further then 15 meters for me.

Just did a test with some MSEs.

Generated the droid.
Grouped with it
Sent it off to chase a mob 64m away
Selected the droid from the group list
Typed /det
Droid blew up.

I did the same for 110, 125 and 150m and the droid still blew up.

A few little things though.
The droid would only chase out to 64m away from me. I would have to walk closer to it before it would chase out the rest of the way, or at least back out to 64m away.

When I killed a mob with the droid, I got 1 point of unarmed combat XP .

Didnt see it here, but trapping droids are not working as intended. Just after the CU, they appeared to lose their bonus and had the trapping ability of their CL. After they messed with the CL, I am sure that isthe case as my now lvl 1 trapping droid, with an over 100 rating, can barely get a trap to stick on the town trash. If it does get a trap to stick, its usually one or two hits to incap for him, as his Health dropped to 100. My DE hasnt had scout in a long time, but I finally triedone with an alt.
