Thread: Combat Droids/Droid Engineer with Combat Droid Pets Private Message Writing Campaign
No matter how constructive it is.
New droids are not being implemented because there are too many bugs
and usefulness issues to deal with first.
Why worry about new droids when the BLL is still useless?
There is no good argument against the priorities being:
1. Fix the bug list
2. Make the droids we have usable and interesting.
Adding combat droids is like adding an addition to a house with a
bad foundation. It's just a bad idea.
That aside...
My real problem with the original post is that it sounds reminiscent of a
whining 3'rd grader.
Example: Whiner wants to play kickball. Almost every other kid wants to play
football. Whiner runs to the gym teacher where no other kids are around and
whines "but I want to play kickball!"
Whiner then petitions the other kickball kids to do the same.
You end up with one REALLY annoyed teacher, and a football game that would be
better with a few more people.
Plus, it's not like they won't play kickball later.

I've got to agree shian (yes, I said it...), we are going nowhere. I think both sides have given a little (and from virtanis's post some of us may not really be that far away), its mostly the extremists fighting it out now. While I don't see myself as an extremist, I do try to bring them further towards the middle.
I really don't know how much "give" this argument has. The Hybrid DE with use of higher powered combat droids will not happen. Think about it:
DE requires nothing but crafting XP and Eng 4(one branch of one novice profession). This in and of itself does not make us a pure crafter class, but every other hybrid class (be it CH, or Commando, or CM, whatever) requires at least 2 branches of a novice tree as a prerequisite. The Devs cannot and will not expand the requirements to become a DE, simply because a bunch of people who do not have those extra requirements already would be screwed. So the Devs would have to drop everyone from DE to be fair to all. This would not be acceptable customer service and would be a PR nightmare, once game mags and websites got wind of this. So to think the Devs will give DE higher powered combat droids is misguided at best.
So in order to put higher powered droids in the game, a DC profession is needed. Runesabre has said that he opposes adding new classes before the current broken ones are fixed. The most broken professions are getting the once over in the upcoming patches (probably 4 or 5 patches total, once all are gotten around to). So DC really isn't an option until much further down the road (or even the Space Expansion, who knows?)
So for now, we've gotthe new Combat Modules with this publish, and whatever utility they give us in the next publish.
ROFLMAO !!! I think you two need to kiss and make up.

ROFLMAO... do you even read your own posts?
You are and have been far nastier to me than I have been to anyone, including Arden. Yet you continue to spout your snide little remarks and hold your nose up in the air like you're better than everyone else.
I'm not riled up at all. I find your reactions amusing because they're so inconsistent with what you preach to others.

Its the 'pure crafters' who have nothing better to do while they are waiting for thier resourses to switch (paint dry?) that come to the forums to 'kill time' (how do I know this ?)((Oh ya, cause I cant do much else))
So let me get this straight, there are actually people trying to figure out why it "seems" there are more crafter-oriented DE's on the boards? You mean the fact that we're a "Crafting" profession wouldn't perhaps signal that the majority of us are crafters? /boggle
I'm finished with him on this anyway..it is pointless and I did lose my cool. Doesn't mean I was not saying what I felt though.
Let this one die.
