My main concern is that I amgoing to spend all this time on DE. Only to find out thatthere is nothingbetter than a buffed probot. I think that with everything else that is being added, new pistols, swords, rifles, armor, vehicles, bio-engineered pets, etc... Were are the new droids to make Droid Engineer worth something? Droid engineer has not beenmuch more than to create mobile crafting stations, since the probot got nerfed back in July or when ever it was. The Droid Commander should be placed under the Droid Engineer line just like a Creature handler using multiple pets, to make a DE combat effective.I think there would be a large increase in the DE profession, not to mention an increase in the demand for droids if there were more combat effective droids. Which would make DE a money making profession again.

One last question, when exactly is this patch that will make it so we can make a more combat effective droid?

One last statement, every other crafting profession has had something new added to make it fun, intresting, and not to mention very lucrative.

I think most (me anyway) want powerfull combat droids. And maby other certifyable utility droids, Over lev 10 !

When I said I didnt want a 'DH' profession I meant the cert should be inherant to DEs.

I suggest the distributed and inherant, certification scheme linked to in my Sig. (see 'The Answer')

But, If a 'DC' profession is the only way to get +lev 10 droids. Then It would be better than no + lev 10 droids at all.

That is definately something we want to do, but technoligically, its very difficult. If the opportunity arises, Im sure it would be considered, but this is most likely a droid we wont see for a long time.

I'd be happy with a droid that would do my creature harvesting. Make it only work when grouped to enforce that 60% harvest penalty, and have it store it in it's own compartment. God that would be nice.

If this ever gets in, make sure the BLL and Adv BLLchasisesare options for this type of droid.

Fine, fine. Will you be answering any of the questions on the other 10 pages?

What is the status of slicing droids? Either that give a higher min to slices (i.e. a Master with one would get say 20-35% instead of 15-35%), which doesn't make the droid required but desirable, or that helps in the process, i.e. perhaps with a droid with a slicing module nearby you only go through one laser knife charge per slice, instead of two.

I am also sorry if this has been mentioned before but I do not have the patience to read the previous 12 pages

I would love to see an entertainer droid. For example, I have a nalargon in my shop with a C3P0 chasis behind it in order to give the illusion that the piano is beign played. It would be great to have it, or any other type of droid, provide entertainment for my customers while they browse my vendor.

The costs of these droids would be dependant of the level of the entertainer module placed in them by the droid engineer. A basic module would allow the droid to play Novice Entertainer level songs whereas a higher level module would give it access to high level songs.

Of course these entertainment droids would have no bf or mind wound healing abilities thereby avoiding the wrath of the entertainer community. They'd be strictly for amusement purposes only.

Well there's my 2 cents, thanks for listening.

If you go to a merchant trainer in one of the city buildings they have a device that plays music. I'd kill thousands of pixels for access to a vendor droid that played music

Guess I'm not cool enough to actually get "Edit" to work. If you take the idea of a musician droid, you could have a way for Master Musicians to say program a droid with one of their songs, or maybe a handful. More money for Musicians would be awesome, and droids will be worth a small amount more to the average player who has a house for their item collection.

That's a great addition to the music droid idea Crimson.

Two professions would then have a new source of revenue without taking anything away from any other profession...ie. people would still need to seek out entertainers for healing/buffs/half dressed Twi'lek girls.

Hope a dev sees this and takes it under consideration

Can a Doctor reach the full potential of his class without the extra 10% bonus a high-quality medical droid provides?
Better remove that ability, and those mobile crafting stations that make travelling crafters possible are also a bad idea. Droids already exist to enhance the existing abilities and classes...I think, OrionsByte, that you should not advocate the "no checkers" concept. Are you sure you play a Droid Engineer?

Ultimately, this is the problem. Slicing droids and any kind of droid module that augments a player's innate skills isn't going to happen. Its basically "free" skills and abilities and I can't sell that unless we also agree to lower everyones innate skills to balance it out...and I can't see everyone saying, "lets nerf everyone so we can have cooler droids".

The other thing is that harvest maintenance, surveyingand another class of abilities isn't a viable alternative because of the technological limitation. However this DE effort has let the devs lay the groundwork to add more modules in the future.

This was a strong start and like everything else, it will continue to develop.

Then what about a more practical use - as I said above, if a smuggler has a slicing droid out, they only go through one laser knife per slice instead of two.

I think a lot of people would appriciate anything that smugglers could do with droids besides craft like everyone else. Droids and slicing go together like doctor buffs and vassarian brandy.
