To have the strongest combat droid, six 100% combat modules must be used in constructing a droid.

Just so you know, here is the number of modules that droids can currently hold:

MSE
DZ70
Power
ADV Power
R5
R4
Treadwell
Protocol
ADV Binary Load Lifter (BLL)

Two modules:

ADV MSE
ADV DZ70
ADV R5
ADV Treadwell (WED)
LE Repair
Surgical
Probot
ADV Protocol

Thre Modules:

ADV R4
ADV LE Repair
ADV Surgical
R2
R3

Five Modules:

ADV R2

Six Modules:

ADV R3

So, this means that the Advanced R3 will be the most powerful combat droid, with R2-D2 running a close second?

The binary load lifter, that great lumbering beast, has but one module - so, he won't be too great at stepping on things?

that's correct a R3 has more combat capable ability then a Prototcol droid. Someone tell that to 4LOM the gun toating protocol droid bounty hunter.

Sketh,

TH mentioned that combat modules can only be put into units that are cabable of combat. It is possible that Astromech droids will not be capable of combat therefore any R unit will not be able to have the modules put into it.

TH, good job. Just hope people read what you have posted. The immediate question would be what is in the works for above CL10 combat droids?

then no 6 combat modules could go into anything and since r3's are the only thing capable of holding 6 modules. Then that limits the number of current droids to ebmade combat ready.

IMO the number of combat modules dedicated to a droid for it to be combat ready makes no sense. Making them stackable makes no sense. making them Varying in level say a level 6 combat module Makes perfect sense with the current layout. so a level 6 combat module would be one module with high difficulty benig placed ina droid.

TH - can you please direct some of the Developers to read something fromt he star wars universe so they are able tounderstand that some of the Protocol Droids out there were actually Bounty Hunters.

Thanks

If all these droids will be level 10 or less, will it take 6 modules to get it up to level 10?

Also, shouldn't the covert detector module be the covert detector DETECTOR module?

Should be a Covert JAMMER module.

Hooray for DE's - but how about we hold up on all the "new" stuff and have a publish dedicated to just fixing all the things that either haven't worked since launch - or that you broke with publishes 1-6?

I really have no wish to take away from DE's - but you have BH's threatening to walk out as a class, Pikemen that still aren't fixed, some of the new chef stuff you introduced a week ago don't work, and Publish 6 also seems to have messed up CH pets in a big way. That's not even scraping the top of the list.

Perhaps it's just that you are not communicating very well. You re-do the web site and post "new" things with flashing banners and glowing yellow stars around them, and have multiple people working the PR route so everyone gets the message. Maybe you *are* working on bugs in the background, but we'd like to see a list of "known" issues that you actually have a warm body working on.

I could not agree More because of the constant state of Bugs my main toon has been so messed up. Can not calla single Bio engineered pet but i'm a master CH. Get No benefit for being a politician besides being everyones Q&A guy for what the city can or can not do and what can not be gained at master politician - All that great App loss and no stinking benefit.

Player cities are fading out, half the stuff that used to work does not anymore, when i get off my vehicle sometimes it warps me 100+ m away. Other times it vanishes mid drive or mid combat.

Foods, do not work correctly.

Positive faction means nothing anymore when you go to do Nym's quests get tons of positive faction and suddnely get agroed by his guys at his star port when youa re ready to leave and they all decide to attack you.

Lots of broken stuff. I want DE's droids to actually work like they should. The reason they said they will not act as a skill enhancer is because it would unbalance the game they say. How does the new Chef foods not already do that? especially when you have such specific foods that benefit, TKA, Trandoshans, and Wookies?

Elaborating on intended fixes would be much better. Specifically if redesigning all droids requires new chasiss etc for them to hold more then one to three modules.

I was hoping to get a few new combat droids! Will there ever be a chance of Droidkars or any other type combat droid, besides the probot and the other sorry excuse for a combat droid?

The Droid Commander sounds very cool, I think it should just be added under the DE line. Of course having a swarm of probots following behind doesn't sound very cool though. NOw a few Destroyer Droids rolling up behind the player would be a sight to see!

Also any estimation as to the time frame of when the new droids(if any ) are releases? In other wordshow long am I going to have to hold on to Droid Engineer, only to find out the only difference is a buffed up Probot or DZ70?

Also not everyone wants a utility droid or improved droid crafting stations. I have had more people ask about combat droids, then the mobile crafting stations. I say there are enough mobile crafting stations, we need some type of support beyond Creature handler!

Well guys ill tell you what seems to me that every profesion has had a patch that has taken it to the next level.

with this new patch "the droid envasion" seems that the devs dont know who to give this new power too or dont want to give the power too!

as a MBH we are the only profesion that uses 3/4 of our skill tree , we get nothing out of investigation execpt the promise of being able to track jedi?!! well devs i can do that without droids and many other MBH's can too! as the only profesion that uses 211 skillpoints i execpt to get something from each row in the MBH tree

other profesions get that , why not us?

i have looked and studied every proffesion in this game, and comparing them to bh, they get more for less skill points!

so now is the time for MBH's to shine, you devs say you where looking to place droid commmander with DE's ok i can understand that but what about us?

we are the only proffesion to have a entire row deadicated to droid use , and you dont even need to do the whole row to get to track jedi, that is a rip, .........WE NEED MORE FROM OUR INVESTIGATION ROW

let it be humnoid trappin or some type of droid use that only and again i say ONLY a MBH can have and use

stop makin it easy for jedi its bad enough that you devs take and take and take from the BH profesion(eye shot, fast blast, bleed shot, and even fire knockdown to a degree) funny how its mostly our pistol stuff that is weak and isn't that what bounty hunters are known for????????

in closing i really hope you guys and girls do the right thing on this, give us something that uses all of our skill tree cause if all we get is something fixxed that should have been workin in the first place then thats a ripp off , and also will confirm for me that the only thing on the devs mind is making it easy for people to be JEDI, but that will not stop them from dieing even with devs working against us we will find a way no matter how much you take away from use or how much more you give to them !

sorry for all the spelling errors but it is real late!!!!!!

I'm just starting on the DE tree, and I'm glad to see that it will soon be more what I'd imagined that what I'm currently experiencing. That said, originally I had been interested in the combat angle, but now I'm not so sure. Look, there's already a HUGE amount of emphasis in the game on direct combat. We have a pile of combat trees, crafters that specialize entirely in weapons or armor, creature handlers for those who want combat pets, a support tree for the creature handlers (bio-engineer). All that we add by making high-powered combat droids is a new look for the pet-warrior types, and a lot of bugs.

I don't want to compete for market with the creature handlers, they need their niche. If we DEs start churning out war machines then they get a stealth nerf, and the games begin. I've played EQ, I'm beyond sick of seeing the casualties of nerf wars. Besides, in the original movies (those being the ones that made this whole ficton popular) I didn't see even one combat droid, not one - and yet everyone loved the droids most of all (before you mention the probots, remember: Probe Bot, self-defense was an afterthought)! Well, some people liked the Jedi, but some people have strange tastes .

What I want, and what would be a whole lot healthier for the profession and the game, are droids that perform thesidekick roll they did in the movies. Such as the following:

- Medic Droids that automatically run around and heal my group (this has been suggested several times, just wanted to put in another vote - and I am a medic. I would love to be able to delegate as keeping even one other person alive in combat is a tough job!).

- Courier Droids of all types to transport goods from extractors or factories or merchants or the bazaaror just between players across cities and worlds (who wouldn't buy one or two of these!?).

- Surveilance Droids, high-flyers or sneaky scouts that give people a better look at what's around, possibly with cameras that allow the user to see through their eyes (i.e. what the probots actually did). Not to mention all the surveying and such that has been suggested throughout this thread.

- Maintenance Droids that can fix other droids, vehicles, buildings, or anything else artificial (I'm unsure if any of these would step on the toes of the other artisan classes, but similar to the medic droid if they do they shouldn't be quite as good as the real thing - more like field maintenance).

- Combat Support, there is a huge untapped pool here. I want my BLL to dig a trench, my R2 unit to hack into and corrupt enemy machinery and turrets, and my mouse droid out there laying landmines. I want the enemy disoriented, confused, and afraid, all without firing a single shot. If I can do that, then I'll be able to sell my droids faster than I can build them, and add some serious variety to the game at the same time.

In short, let the monsters fight. They're big and dumb, its what they do. Droids are smart and subtle, which in the end is a whole lot meaner. Hit just a few items on this list, and the DE could easily become the most lucrative tree in the game.

Oh well, I know I'm dreaming here, but you asked for any and all suggestions!

I totally agree with binary mist, the DE is heading in the wrong direction.

I was really impressed on how this game was so very different from all other MMORPG's. In this game you could go through the entire thing without ever lifting a gun but I am starting to realise that it is starting to turn out that way.

The Droid Engineer *PLEASE READ THIS***

The Droid was built for one true functionality, to assist. Droids are like tools that aid humanoids in their everyday chores which would include some of the following...

-crafting

-repair

-healing

-entertainer helper (the flasy lights idea)

-survaillance

-tracking

-grunt work (laying mines, carrying a lot of inventory items, etc)

-combat SUPPORT, this means maybe a light blaster on the bot for ranged support, light ranged support.

I do realise there are large combat droids like the AT-AT and AT-ST, but those are like tanks in Real life. Consider those as weapons...

The Droid is supposed to be effecient and overall helpful, not the big metal beast that takes the hits for you otherwise there would be nomore point to Bio-engineer and Creature Handler.

I personally would like to see some combat droids as I do see them as being realistic, HOWEVER, I do not wish to see them taking over and just being another drop in the combat-prof oriented bucket.
