The climb to master DE for me was a definite long haul, so i was thinking that the payoff for reaching master in this profession would have been worth the effort. Unfortunately, with as many issues as there are in the functionality of modules(which has been documented ad nausium), the lack of customization of color to make your work unique, and the overall lack of usefull frames for droids as combat options make this profession a dissapointment. The xp required for this profession is very difficult to come by because of the lack of resources it takes to build a droid. So grinding was the only option. World beware ! Those who pursue master DE will waste your resources in practice mode until the world is dry. All in all I enjoy the DE profession, it has great potential. The only thing people are interested in now are medical modules and some crafting stations. This is not enough to make the profession usefull. DEVS HELP fix the module issues, customization, and experimental usage.

That being said, just try asking a BH how hard investigation xp is to come by and you may feel for them more!

Well, now that i'm a master DE, I don't really care one way or the other, but as a novice, I totally agree, they went nuts when they designed our class...

Fix UXP, Leave the rest alone. The XP amounts to get from level to level are just asreasonable as the other elite artisans, they just seem less-so because there's so few resources per droid. I, For one, Would rather make a droid for 500 resources and get 1k XP then make a heavy harvester for 30k resources and get 60k XP... Being able to harvest for 1 day, and completely restock your vendors and the bazaar works better for me than having to harvest for 1 day, and make 1 item.

I vehemently disagree with the notion of lowering the XP requirements for Droid Engineer. I think people are overlooking the concept of Elite in Elite Profession. It should't be easy. I don't want it to be easy. I've been playing my character since launch week. I'm a DE (2/0/0/4). I've done some grinding, but I have also sold a lot of what I make.

If the XP requirements are lowered, and anyone could become a Master DE in the course of a few days (which by the way is very possible right now - with enough steel and fiberplast); then, what next? I wanted to play this game strictly to be a Droid Engineer. What would be the fun in accomplishing that with little to no effort?

Once we all hit Master DE, then what? Do we flood the market with high end droids to make money? Or, do we all get bored because there is no longer any challenge, no carrot dangling, so to speak.

I don't really want to see the XP requirements go up any. I think they are at a good place right now. It is challenging, but not overwhelming.

To paraphrase Cher from an older commercial she did - if it came in a bottle, everyone would be a Master Droid Engineer.

The DE profession's exp required is fine. If anything, its too easy. Fiberplast + steel and short amount of time and your a master.

Trahald,

Up until VERY recently, crafting harvesters gave architect crafting xp, not general crafting xp. Please note that this thread goes all the way back to a day or two after release, and therefore some of the complaints we find in it are outdated.

Mind you, many of the issues raised on June 30th are still with us.

Fixing UXP is essential. I figured out in beta how not to grind. I'm at engineering III now with zero grinding so far. Just making guns & powerups, selling the good ones and giving away the not-so-good ones. I'm very content taking my time to get to DE since I can do it without grinding, but I really don't want the grind to be the only option once I hit DE.

Howis usage experiencesupposed to work, for droids? How does it actually work?

If it does work towards droid xp, you could try to give away mouse droids to everyone you meet, and just beg them to keep the droid out, or whatever, so you get XP from it.

Well I was solely playing swg to become a DE and am fine with the exp requirements but if uxp is not working i am seriously thinking of not becoming one now. fix that and the amount of droids available and i will be a happy gamer.
