Just a quick Q on the maintainance droids - do you actually get to see the droid attending the structure - that would be cool - would certainly highten the prescence of droids in-game. If not, (the droid just vanishes into thin air)I feel the Dev's have missed a trick.

Droid just vanishes and your unable to call it depending on what it says after you hit GO! - maintenance does seem to arrive immediately no matter how long it says the droid will return.

Also, can someone check on the time taken to vs. droid chassis. Eg. is a DZ70 faster than a protocol at performing the task? If not, again it'd be really cool to see a protocol attending harvesters out in the field if my fist point is answered in the positive. Shame it can't empty the hoppers too tho - if you can't see the droid performing the task then there's no 'coolness' factor (or indeed point) in having one TBH...

Due to the fact that there is no animation - i doubt that there will be a time difference - it will most likely be module dependant only - but we can try a few other types.

Oh, and while I'm on the subject... are there new animations for the scout modules & the medic module?

so far - i have only tried them on the MSE - i will give them a try on the LE.

Overall, from the patch notes I think I may just have to keep subscribing to SWG for a little longer -it ISa lot better than I was expecting after the abysmal Publish7. That is, of course, just reading the patch notes -lets hope the actual Live Publish lives up to thepatch notes!

So far - they are just as described - still buggy but TK-421 is working on that

Cheers to Jenden, TK & the others for the work on TC - I'd gladly help out but don't fancy grinding through DE for a second time!

Ok, checked out more combat stats, I made a probot with 5 CR84 combat modules and he came out with 161-170 with .77 speed and .4 to hit. Bit better damage than before, plus the increased HAM makes them pretty nice.

Hey Jenden

I must have missed the HAM on the Probot, think you could post them again? I only saw the HAM on the LE and an R-series.

Also, Thanks for all the work you and the other TC DE's have put in. I dont think we say it enough.

I can't remember exactly, but I want to say around 2500+ (maybe 2800). I know my mediocre DZ70 is 2400, and the probot was somewhere under 3000 I think.

TK-421 says that some people have been able to craft them - i have not due to an error:

Internal server error: no owner for player

So untill that is fixed - i cant report on what it does. I hope some of those TK talked about will pipe up with some information

I've been thinking a bit about this two. I think it'd look good if when you finished giving the command to the droid it would, depending on what's around it in priority order:

1) head into the closest starport within 200m;
2) head into the nearest building within 200m or
3) wander off in a random direction for 200m

When it gets into the building or gets 200m away from the starting point have it store itself.

Three things bother me about this module, although its a great idea and am glad it went through. 1, that you cant see how much mantinance is already in your harvester. 2, if your harvester is even running, maybe the resourse you had it on ran out. Although a survey droid or checking your survey tool would anwser this, i think this info should be added. And 3, the ability to add power, maybe restrict this to the power droid Chassiss, but this is really important. Right now this module dosent touch harvester runs, there still as big a neccessity as before. Youve got this toy-ish function to top of there maintinance if you so desire, but your still going to have to go out there and drop of some power.

(using the structure maintenance droid)can be done on any building you have admin on.

Yup. If you have Admin rights, you can add the structure to your droid's list.

you guys obviuosly arent archtiects and havent gone 6000km following a vein only to have it max out at 36%...then find another vein and follow it for 4000k only to have end at 29%...it isnt like you do a scan and follow the 79% vein of metal to the 86% vein 500k away...

it wouldnt be so bad if they let use survey from a vehicle...then it wouldnt be stop scan stop scan stop scan

Maybe I'm odd, but the last time I had to track down an ore vein (ores are in my experience the most painful thing to track) it went something like this:I started off in Tyrena, went 1 klick SE, surveyed a bit in the area, did the same SW, on bothi I quickly realized the vein was going to track into the ocean, Then moved NW, tracked a vein into the mountains, had it max out on 44% IN the mountains, despite my hopes of it passing through. Iwent two klicks east, started over, tracked a new vein, hit a 60-70%ish conc, got my harv down. I'm now six klicks from Tyrena. (and despite my swoop, that was longer than half an hours work.)

And as I see that overhead, white-lined structure go green I feel triumph. The kind I get when I kill something hard, or loot something good. Like the time I got a harvester down 5% higher than everyone else because I tried in a forest, and didn't just settle for the plains around. Or when I found a completelyempty place with a 76% conc off a980 PE rad. (Or when I got the 71% conc of 950 OQ Tolium Reactive Gas, notone hour after seeingTk go "Couldn't build them cause I'm out of Tolium reactive gas" on a spawn hardly a day old ).

So, essentially, what I'm getting at here is; Maybe I'm the only guy in the whole game who does it, but I actually like tracking resource veins. It's my knowledge of how to track the particular resource, my ingenuity in gettingthe harvplaced in odd spots, my stubborness finding a good concentration, that results in those 10's of thousands of resource I use in my droids.

AO'sanalogywith sending adroid in to loot the geo labs isgreat. If I'm going to get the loot, fighting my way to it is half the fun. If I don't have to struggle for it, what's the reward worth?

(That being said, I don't see what seems to be the current incarnation of the survey droid replace SWGcraft for me, although it will make a usefull complement in checking whether I should toddle off and pull my harvester down, with the exception of the advanced planets, since SWGcraft doesn't get exact enough on those. Still, IMO, it'll be a nice addition )

Since this wasn't answered...it's 10 seconds/heal. I timed it myself.

On scout module:

1) If the droid is grouped with the scout, can they both harv each corpse?

2) If so, can the droid harv meat while the scout harvs hide?

Okay, all..I'm gonna pull this off the sticky list.

If you need to get at this thread quickly, there's a link to it in the new stickied "Publish 8 Hot Topics!" post.

Note: I have to say, I don't think I've ever seen a post fill up so fast on the DE boards. I don't know what that means...but there ya have it.
