/agree with this petition.

To begin and to succes in this profession, we need to grind with MSE. It is really bored to gain the first level of this profession.

No UXP for the novice (who want to use a stupid mouse droid who this primary fonction is : nothing)

the first is combat droid is a big joke and they are a lot of bug with all droid.

CHANGE THAT PLEASE !!!

Bah to all of you -- I've almost mastered the DE tree, and I enjoy every bit of it. The fact that you are all calling it a grind shows that you are not "playing" you are just trying to "win." In real life you don't get to have a lot of fun while you are a grunt, but once you finally make it to the top -- things smooth out, why should a game wanting to model that be different? In real life you have to take years and years to get to the top of a lot of fields, and yet you think that in 2 weeks of playing you should be maxxed out in your skills....get over yourselves.

U focus on the thing the minority whines about, the most of us just whine about the uselessness of 95% of our droids.

I have problems grinding, but there should be a reward. There isnt.. unless ur such a big SW geek u wet yourself simply because you can produce a droid from the film.

Yes there is a lot of exp to get to the top. Yes, if you are just grinding through it, it really sucks. No, it shouldn't be made any easier. No, I don't think it WILL be made any easier. Our class is set-up for the future. When vehicles and space travel are put in for player control, our class is primed to take advantage of that. Once the droids are finished and do what they are supposed to, we'll be a much more powerful class than most of you realize. The devs know this, that's why it's so hard to get through it. I STILL am able to sell MSE droids to people you just have to know how to market things. If you can't sell what you are making, then you need to just get the skill points back from D.E. and go be a scout or a marksman.

I could sell data droids when they worked, i sell the occational medical droid. And listen, i have noooooo problem selling objects that can actually be used in the game. Luckily i become a Master Artisan before becoming DE. So I have things that will sell.. just not the über useless droids(ok ok,i sell a med droid once each 3 days or so, big deal)

Ours is a hard path and a long path, but it's also a lot of fun and rewarding if you'd quit whining and enjoy it.

What reward? seriously tell me, we bust through a kinda tuff tree(xp wise), and what do we get? A probot and some crafting monkeys? All kinda nice to have, but nothing the usefullness of a Novice Arch, Wepsmith or armorsmith couldnt par.

(no I didn't play beta, no I am not part of a PA, I did this all myself by making friends and contacts in the game and going from there...if I can do it so can you)

Yes, i can sell droids.. If i say "Im not kinda sure what it does, but it have to do something right?" when trying to sell a completely useless droid to a other toon. But im not that kinda guy.

I agree, these bugs in DE need to be fixed. I am afraid by the time the bugs are fixed, the damaged to the reputation of droids will be ruined. But I do have hope that it will all come together.

Azith Evertoon, Master Artisan and Novice droid engineer on Eclipse, signing the petition.

Droid engineers are rather rare on my server, probably due to the extensive grinding involved, I have yet to see more then 3 online at any given time. I even stopped DE for a day just to grind out Master Artisan (still needed DA 2,3,4 and Bus 1,2,3,4) and that was long, but easily done with bone armor chestplates. 48k each level is crazy for a droid that only gives 140 xp per combine. At least give us a bonus when we make a mouse droid with a med unit instead of just a pet. But really the content needs to be changed for this. Keep the xp requirements as it is if needbe and increase the results of a successful combine. Make it reward better with more optional parts and add in some content to make them a bit more diverse.

I don't hate my fellow DEs. I'm just tired of them talking down droids (many droids DO work and work well). I'm tired of them complaining about how hard it is to get up levels. Well, perhaps making PROBOTS shouldn't exactly be something you do in an hour or two of casual gaming.

Yes, I want to see data modules fixed. I want to see personality chips do something. I want to see the DE class more flushed out.

I just am tired of reading DE's complain here about how all droids are broken and make it easier to level. Advanced classes are SUPPOSED TO BE HARD. If you want cheat codes and easy levelling, go back to Quake.

I am having a blast with DE. People love their droids. Even the ones with no modules built-in ... because they look cool.

Don't like having to gather resources AND make droids? Stand in the middle of the crafting center of a town and start trading droids for resources. Not big droids, I was trading R5 droids for resources the other night. Worked great. I got what I needed, they got a cool droid to follow them around.

MOST of the players of this game are not cynical powergamers. They think droids look cool and just want to have one. Medics LOVE getting out fo the med-bay. Go in there and sell a few.

MOST DE's who've advanced much at all are powergamers. We (I include myself in this once, since I'm Blueprints 4, Construction 1, and Techniques 2) want bigger, better, faster ... always. Well, the designers of this game finally clued into us and made it hard for us for once.

So ... instead of posting in here about how hard it is (which, given SOE's level of response anywhere, will do nothing) ... go manage your harvesters ... go search the galaxy for the elusive extrusive ore ... stand around town building droids while you try to sell a few.

If you do those things, you'll get ahead faster than SOE will change the game for you. You'll have more fun, too.

And, if you find yourself on Naboo (Bloodfin) and want to talk shop ... I'm just outside of Moenia.

i agree its pretty difficult but if it weren't there would be far to many droid engineers and besides if you didn't have skills to learn what would you do then?

but i also implore that it is a very glitchy system that should be highly considered by the devs very soon...

Um, I can't imagine why you say that. I make (and sell) advanced probots, probots, R5 units, mouse droids, advanced R4 units, advanced DZ70s, even DZ70s. I earn enough money to keep my greedy harvesters going and a little extra so that I can buy cool toys (like my new FWG5 pistol).

I'm very happy with droids so far. I can see how they can be vastly improved. I just don't want the XP requirements lowered. That's rediculous. Advanced probots (which have two armor slots, two general module slots, and 100,000 condition points) should be VERY HARD. Equipped with a medical module and a food/chemical crafting module (which I am now doing), they are the truly awesome ... attack capabilities along with a full med-bay and crafting.

Yes, it has been a LOT of work to get to make those. And, I would say: IT SHOULD BE.

I'm not angst-filled. I just get tired of people talking down my chosen profession. So many novice DEs complain about how this doesn't work or how that is broken or how hard it is. Well, SUCK IT UP. Others made it through, you can to.

Folks, DE _IS_ a fun class already. Sure, you have to pay your dues. That's true with any class. Have you seen the requiments for Commando or Pistoleer? Those classes require that you kill all of the creatures on a planet to qualify.

Petition for things to work ... NOT for XPs to be lowered. Quite frankly, that is simply stupid.

Want a good petition (I think it's running already): Have droids decay! If they don't, we'll all be out of work soon. Personally, I think there's one very simple change ... have droids NOT reset their Condition to maximum when they are stored. And, have them lose Condition slowly when they travel across more hazardous terrain (R2-D2 was fine in the city ... but, the Tatooine desert really messed him up). That would make Droid Repair Kits useful ... and, I hear you get UXPs from repair kits when used.
