Remember, you have enough skill points to master 3 professions and dawdle in a 4th. There should be no reason you need to drop DE to master what the Holocron tells you to.

My understanding at this point is that what the Holocron tells you to master is based on your starting profession. So if you started as an Artisan (as most of us probably did), you'll be asked to master an elite branching out from that (DE, Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Chef, Tailor, Architect).

When I used my holocron I got this hollow booming voice in my head, and it said:

To understand the ways of the Force you must first prove your worth. You must undertake a long and arduous struggle, overcoming nearly insurmountable difficulties in defiance of all the odds. You must prove your dedication, perseverance and patience and struggle onwards in the face of ridicule for uncertain rewards and you must....

Oh, wait. You're a Master Droid Engineer. Never mind.....

I would give up all my other skill points first, but ultimately I would surrender DE skills if need be. Then I would build them back up after opening the FSCS.

But if it tells me I have to become s CH, I'm gonna puke.

I'd probably open another account and have a character on that account work towards the Jedi goal before dropping any DE skills. Are you NUTS?!?DE was WAY too freakin hard to Master in the first place (without Macros or other somewhatquestionable methods). There is no way on <insert planet name here> that I would reverse that to open the FSCS. Why would I want to trade in my investment in futility for the prospect of severe hardship?

Hell no i wont surrender my skills for a force slot i like being aDE and ill be damned if im doing that grind again. Although ive considered working on my sunrunner character to try and open my forceslot. It will give me something to do while i wait for the DE fixes.

As much as I hate to say it, i'm tempted to get a second account and have the DE fund that character's trip through the multiple professions to get the Jedi slot.

What I want to see:

Some uber pk BH/Commando type have to master DE!

I just hope all those poor souls don't come here to whine, like they've just discovered the secret of the universe: being a DE kinda blows at this point.

Unless I get DE as a profession I have to master then I know I'll never be a jedi. I've worked too **edit** hard to get it and will never ever drop it. Them DEVs can go screw a **edit** for making Jedi this way

I just read a post on the Jedi forums. Some BH DID get a holocron telling him to Master DE.

I just got my holocron yesterday, decided to use it today. Guess what I got... I'll give you a little hint, it starts with "D" and ends with "roid Engineer".
