What's up with all the DE flames? SOE finally says they will fix the problem with Publish 7 which revolves around Droids, so just be patient... our time has finally come!!!
Novice DE 0/0/4/3 (I only make Seeker and Ankryd droids because it's the only way to make money as a DE lately)

Respectfully,
Near as I can tell, it is likely tied to both account length and number of posts. For an example, look ay my own "Community Member" status, as well as my post count.
Back on topic, anyone who went to a psychologist and said "I'm not affected at all by something I've spent time, effort and money on" is likely to need more help than someone who was. This isn't real life, true, but this IS an effort by real people, in a social setting.

It's either 146 or 147 days registered on the forums and at least 100 posts. There may be other requirements as well, but those are the ones we have been able to figure out more-or-less for sure.

Thought someone commented that there was a guy wandering around who was a community veteran with the edit ability but only had like 4 posts
(almost seems a waste, doesn't it?)

That would be odd, since I can guarantee that whoever that was doesn't have an account older than my own.
