I think DC should be secretly pushed into live. The DE who answers 1000 e-mails about Droidekas and "uber I337" "the best droid you can make" droids unlocks his DC character

Seriously though,I personnaly think a Squad Commander/Creature Handler splice would do the trick. The commands and benefits given to group members by a Squad Leader could easily be applied to a group of droids. The complexity of the commands would have to be based on the DC's skills as a commander. Telling a coupledroids to go prone and /takecover and telling another droid to charge and begin /one-handhit1 would take a significant amount of skill. System commands could also be interpreted to be formation commands. The level and number of droids would be handled almost exactly like the CH tree. Some of the basic droid commands we have now could also be elaborated upon while gaining some of these skills. Such as /walk 100 north; 50 south; commencefire target x, or even /droidburstrun etc. The possiblities are almost endless since each droid could mimic a PC's movements. The level of complexity would only depend on the skill boxes. I think there is plenty of content to justify a whole new profession.

Obviously, crafting is going to still be done solely by DE's, however I know I'd keep my DE skills and be a DC too, which would probably make a lot of sense. If you have enough DC skills, you shouldn't have to fight yourself. You would be quite a vulnerable target though if you messed up at all with troop movement and attacks. This would probably be the most significant downside to DC. However, some people would probably pick up rifleman skills and commence blowing the heck out of everyone while their droids took all the hits. Balance seems to be the biggest problem here, there are plenty of creative ways to implement DC.
