Around 2 publishes ago the structure maintenece droid became obsolete. This publish the harvester droid bit the dust. So the cynic in me is wondering which droid will be made useless next publish. They could figure out the galaxy wide vendor search thing and make it so there's no reason to use merchant barkers. Or they could make it so anyone can use Stimpack A and get rid of the stim dispenser.
Yes I'm in a bad mood tonight.
I realize that these results weren't the dev's intentions (at least the very small optimist in me wants that to be true) but i felt like posting anyway.
But, everyone can already use Stim As, lol. Where have you been hiding? Stim Bs are the ones that require Med Use 5 (Novice Medic)

Trust me... I'm making sure the devs are very aware of all this...

As a Ranger-In-Training (tm), and one who has started up a Meat & Hide Vendor, I know the uses of the harvesting droids, as I bought TEN to use (giving to close guildies) to help start...
extensively tested the harvesting droid while hunting kimos (lok carn is hot on Intrepid), and the droid is COMPLETELY USELESS in a group.
works FINE if you're solo. If I'm hunting by my lonesome, the droid works GREAT.
in a group, FUGGHEDABOUDIT.
of course, now I'm running into the old problems (blind, not getting to the corpse on time....)
may the DE corr have the luck we rangers did.

If you happen to have any numbers from your hunting, please either post them here or PM them to me. Trying to get a good collection of statistics to help track things down.

On a side note, with all the inventory adjustments to your personal and house inventory space...how come the droid storage modules get a little bump?

I brought that one up... though its not too high on the priority list right now. People will always find more stuff to cary around, especially in a scan-free decay-free droid.

Lets just make sure that doesn't get nerfed.

I try not to be overly critical.
I make 117 Bonus harvesting droids - and they had been great sellers. I hate that the last patch has put the nuke to them.
All this new content is great to see coming into the game. I am just beginning to wonder if the Devs think of the full impact to the community.
In the last patch they hurt Chef's when they lowered the time between heals on Doctors. I know Chef's that are well stocked with havala and now do not have any buyers. Some have even dropped their price so low that I have heard people using it as pet food.
Look at architects - they use to get some repeat business when people did not pay maint of harvesters and factories, now that it comes out of your bank account automatically they have effectively killed that repeat market.
Anti-decay kits - make a weapon last forever - kill the repeat sales to WS.
Like I said - I love the content - but maybe there should be more thought to community impact before it is implemented.

I agree, the content is great.
A little over a month ago we had a real nice shift of Naboo Avian meat on Lowca. My shop is located in a player city, Serenity, on Naboo. We saw a huge increase in the shuttleport traffic and mission terminals. I started advertising and selling harvesting droids and had a great time. This was the first time in a long time that I had crafted droids for public sale. I had a blast.
The going rate for the avian was 300-350 cpu so the droids were well worth the money. I also trained a few first time droid users.
Now with the droids obsolete... /shrug
Check out the Serenity Naboo Kaadu Restaurant menu. Very funny post of a guildies.
