Thread: DEers, What items did you craft, while you were Engineering IV?

Bone armor chest plates.

When you get to Novice DE, get used to clicking on the MSE droid selection. You will need to make about 330 or so to get Blueprints I I think. More after that to get Blueprints II, then you can make Advanced Droid Chassis or whatever they are (require 150 Steel and 70 Chemical), each one is worth about 500 exps or so I believe.

So before BPII is thousands of clicks for hardly any exps each time you make something, and after BPII its hundreds of clicks on thousands of resources for reasonable exps each time you make something. In either case use practice mode because most of what you make is going to be useless. I am keeping a few advanced chassis just because I will need them down the road I am sure.

I was going to go for BPIII so I could make Probots, but given how useless they are at the moment I think I will concentrate on getting all the boxes to level 2 first, then carry on in blueprints.

Grind, grind, grind...

Oh, I have 1 harvester set up for Fibreplast, and 3 set up for Steel, plus one more on aluminum at the moment so that I have it for making new harvester deeds, but it will eventually feed my steel addiction as well.

If you have survival IV or higher, make camps! 80xp while practicing, and if you have a few friends, get them to drop off their extra hide and bone while you sit down and craft (or go hunt with them, pitch up a tent for them so its permantely up, and craft away while they harvest the resources for you!

I got Master Artisan in about.... 3 hours.

I made camps, too...but don't make the improved camp kits; multi-person give better xp per resource. You get 52 practicing, and they require 8 hide and 4 bone. Improved gives you about 80 but requires 16 hide and 8 bone. You have to do twice the clicking but you'll waste less resources this way.

When you say it took 3-4 hours, did you craft nonstop basically?

I kinda alternated: first I made a suit of bone armor for myself. then I practices travel packs til I ran outta fiberplast. then I did starshine surprises until I ran outta reactive gas. then I did control units (from master artisan schematics) and other components. you should only practice on these, because if you toss these optional parts into a weapon/armor/clothing/droid repair tool you don't get any extra usage exp.
(thanks to the dev's, they nerfed usage exp so you hardly get any now, and ONLY if someone else uses what you made..on the same planet..while you're logged in)

If you're gonna go DE, you might consider going master artisan first. Just remember that the more resources needed for an item, the more exp you get. Experimenting doesn't increase exp either.

Thanks

Let's see... to make novice DE, I did powerups. I got lucky and made Novice DE just before the nerf.

To finish Master Artisan, I did multiperson camp kits - got the hide/bone while doing missions, which raised both my Marksman skills too.

Bone Armor on practice mode was what I made.

And to save on clicking use the all powerful Enter key! After you put in your resources the enter key will take you through the rest, except if you are by a crafting station you have to click on ethier expieriment or prototype.

I am part scout so I could get all the hides and bone myself, but you can always buy bone and hide off the bazzar or get it from friends.

I was actually lucky. A lot of the guys I play with are after master scout and creature handler status. so they have me all the hide and bone they harvested. I spent a Saturday night(yes no life here) and crafted a ton on bone armor chest plates. I was getting nice xp for these. to mix things up every hour of so, I'd make some heavy axes. These also got me about 80 or so xp and the chestplates about 400.

Anybody have some advise for Blueprint 1.
