Thread: What is up with no /tip for training?!?!?
I am maxed on apprenticeship points, so I have no benefit to training anyone. However, I do train anyone who asks. It is extremely rare (less than 5% or 1 in 20) who /tip me, so it is always a surprise. Most people are very polite when asking for training and also about thanking me for it afterward. This is enough for me. I am not in need of money, and training only takes a moment of my time. However, if someone is abrupt or can't even bother more than a 'thx' (sorry to me that is a very rude way to thank someone for saving you thousands of credits in training costs) then I will be very unlikely to train them again. I don't care about the money, but I do care about courtesy.

I have my apr points maxed out as well, and money really isnt an issue. I dont ask for tip because I know how much it costs for the skills and how hard it was for me to earn the money to gain the skills(I paid for half of mine) So as along as people appreciate it I have no problem with the training.
So far everyone who has asked for training has been really cool. I even trained a guy and told him I would buy 50 adv driod frames from him, I figured why waste my resources when this guy has to make these anyways and he can make a little cash rather than just wasting the resources.
As far as not training because of future competition, sure you may stop someone for a couple hours or maybe a day or two, but its not like you not teaching them will set them back a month or two. With the artisan missions you can pay for the trainig in a half hour if you have good weapon skill. Plus I usually meet some good people by offering training, and are more likely to build future business intrests rather than make competition thathates you.
Im with you. Personally I ALWAYS offer to tip for my training. I also NEVER accept tips for training others (just the way I am hehe probably why I've got 1240 apprentice points). But, I do like when they offer
and those who I tell "NO Tip needed" and they still tip ...well they're on my good list.

Another thing I've had DE's who train me ask for is parts. Sometimes for a skill box they'll ask that while Im grinding out ADV Frames I just give them 10 or 20 of them as a payment instead of tipping ...
Might be nice, even at lower levels if the DE's got Master Artisan I know I'd love to get 5 or 10 MSS's for a box of training ...sure saves me the time of doing it..

I train everyone who asks politely, unless they have a screwy name. Sorry, bud, MiStEeRyZ.... HappyGilmore... blowme... LORDGUAPO, etc. et. al. just does not get it.
Out of 50+ skill boxes I paid for at least 80% of them. They can too. Money is not that hard to come by.
The fact that I hide under a MasterArtisan tag to avoid training spam is a huge indicator that things are amiss... ![]()
Personally, I believe the balance in this issue is REAL apprenticeship. Ionly have 2 lower-level DEs that I train for free, but that's because they've proved themselves. They're respectful, we share resource waypoints, and we look out for each other's business. To me, this seems like a better system forroleplay purposes, sincethey're called "apprenticeship points", not "saturate the market points".. these n00b DEs need to learn honorby finding an MDE near them to work long-term with.
As for getting enough apprenticeship points to get Master, I get all I need by training the lower-level basic artisan skills. True novice artisans tend to be humble. They KNOW they're the bottom of the food chain and are willing to tip what they can, given their relatively meager income. The only issue I've ever had with not getting /tips when training someone was while training elite skills wearing my DE tag.. go figure..
Keren, I think I've met you before. I'm not sure if it was for skill training but if it was me, I'll be glad to tip you. Usually I have no cash what so ever but I sold a few droids the other day, if it was me please tell me.

I never ask people for tips to train. Quite frankly,I have found people when the game started saying "Training Engineering II, 500 cr". When I saw that, I made a identical Ad offering it for free. It may have been poor on my part but I don't care. I am not going to take Newbie credits if I don't have too.
Also, I have lately been seeing people yelling "Will pay 1000 cr to train you in ...".
Get over it.

What a great idea. I absolutley hate running out of adavanced motive systems and other components, Droid sensor packages too... maybe I'll start requesting parts for training, it actually helps everyone, the lower one gets their training AND UXP from teh parts, the higher one gets apprentice exp (if needed) AND free parts. Great idea
