how about giving the poor DE some useful combat droids. If you're going to give everyone a 4000 ham pet, you can at least up the Probot to pre-nerf

OK...I'll be the badguy...

STOP BOWING AND SCRAPING !! OMG..

We've been broken since release and we have to virtually take over the general board to get a dev to even acknowledge us.....and when they do....this is all we get....

I'll be a lot more thankful when they tell me how they are going to fix this broken class....that is when they finish giving more crap to CHs and Player Cities that most really don't care about.

I thought I was on the wrong forum there for a second, when I saw that a name in Red had actually posted.

THANK YOU BLAIR

It is good to know that DE posts do actually get read from time to time.

Blair, as a non-DE, I'm a commando, I would like to put my 2 cents in here. DE are probably "THE" most broken class that I am aware of. Their nickname is "Medical Droid Engineer" because that is about all they can make that actually works. IMHO, this is star wars and Droids are common place within the strory line except in this game. Even while luke Skywalker lived on the farm they used droids to do the work, i.e. run their harvesters. Check it, you will see I am correct.

Second, at this time Devolopers are looking for money sinks to "Fix the Economy". I don't see the fix as necessary but I am just a player. However, if a money sink is in need, then how about looking for "NATURAL" money sinks instead of Nerfs. This is just one example because I'm not familiar with all professions, If the time were taken to fix this broken profession a natural money sink would be developed within the community. I don't believe anybody would argue the fact that if workable droids were available they would purchase the one they feel would be beneficial. I personaly would love to own a working droid, However, why would I spend 50,000 cr. on Binary Load Lifter that does absolutely nothing other than walk around. I currently own an R2 unit that is "Obselete" quoting Holo. It was designed to hold "Data" and now that is a 70000 cr. waste. For some reason when players used this droid to store Waypoints the Dev's felt it was an exploit and "Nerfed" it. I still am confused what the big reason for forcing people to run back to town is. Then, when that stopped Creature Handles discovered they could store pets in them and again another "Nerf" not only against the Creature Handlers but also the economy because this was a "Natural" money sink that was discontinued and as such the Data droid is now Obselete. Again in terms of money sinks, I spent 12000 cr. for two droid carcasses just to put in my house for decoration because this star wars.

To me, and correct me if I'm wrong and you will have to check the history on this, What appears to be happening is SOE "Nerfs" what is fun and works then "Nerfs" again to try and stimulate something because they broke it earlier. If the game would have been given time to mature before the "Nerf Bat" was swung then perhaps the biggest majority of nerfs wouldn't have been necessary. Honestly, I am so and I am sure thousands of others are sick to death of nerfs and especially "STEALTH NERFS". Which almost ALL classes experienced again with this last patch. I Know you are going to tell me that making the game not fun is not the intention but SOE's actions speak otherwise. "YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO" is one of the quotes I live by and I apply to other aspects as well, I'm sure you get my point.

My point here is before creating money sinks and nerfs allow the game to mature and fix the broken professions and let the economy take care of itself. I happen to be one of those with lots of money in the game.and I earned every one of them. When I started playing I ran 12 missions per day everyday I played. I knew as a commando my weapons were going to be expensive and I needed to prepare. Later, I started harvesting and now run 28 harvesters and 3 fusion gens. and it has worked out very well. But, because people do high level missions for money, I have, and have lots of it in the bank we are now punished for it. That is how an economy works,I just wish I could have been this successful financially in real life. OOps, starting ranting, sorry.

Fix the DE's professons so they can make useful droids for the community, create natural money sinks, and allow the community to have fun. Your other alternative is to lose subscribers when the game loses it's appeal and this point is creaping up on you faster than you may be aware of.

OMG, what is this? The DE board actualy exsists outside player eyes?! I'm shocked! Now Blair this thing where you tell us whats going on better be more frequent than posting a useless message and dissapearing and neglecting us for months as we our profession goes down the crapper.

Blair, on the off chance you guys have not noticed the corolation yet, the droids that cannot be crafted (due to the internal server error issue) are also the same droids that don't hold their color when it is changed by the customization kit. Since the problembegan at the same time that the customization kit was introduced, there is most likely a common cause for both problems.

Droids with both the crafting/colorization bug

R2, R3, R4, R5, Power, MSE

Droids that can be crafted and will hold color

Binary Load Lifter, DZ70, LE Repair, Probot, Protocol, Surgical, Treadwell

I put Protocol on the working droid list, because its issue with coloring is probably intensional.

Thank you kindly for acknowleding our existence. I hope this will be a quick fix, along with the new colorizations. I made my r2 blue and was so excited, but I was the only one who could see it... and then when I relogged it was gone. We could sell so many more droids if they were blue and white! heh.

Also, the protocol is only gold, yet I've seen a silver one. I'd love to be able to customize mine to silver. Thanks =)

I can't wait for the day when our profession is 'uber'

THEY SPEAK! Whoah...

Seriously, Blair, thanks for acknowledgement of our existence. We are willing to wait for the good stuff as long as you guys just let us know you're working on us.

Now I'm going to pry my jaw up off the floor, take my Special Edition Scarface DVD out of the player and watch something happy while I wait on a fix. Yeehaw!

Yoda would dance a jig if he was as content as I finally am now.
