Thread: Please, say there's a light at the end of the tunnel

That's what we should do. We should all post on every thread possible that the DE profession should be a priority. All bugs and problems should be attended to A.S.A.P. We can't stand for it any longer. We are a quiet breed of crafters no more! We shall be heard!

Here is the problem with that....
Droid Engineers are only a small cross section of the entire game community. Bounty Hunters and Jedi more then likely outnumber the true DEs by at least 20 to 1.
The numbers of people that we need to be vocal are the people that use droids. Unfortunately, since droids are usaully considered as being in a negative light, by the general game community, droids see even less use with each bug that makes it to the game. The overall use of droids seems to have dropped dramatically since the release of JtL and has progressively become worse as time as passed, due to the increased number of droid related issues.
From a DE standpoint, at least 90% of what we can craft is bugged in some way. Whether it be from lines of experimentation that do nothing, or the Mechanism Quality rating that never has seemed to work they way that it should.
From a Droid User Standpoint, the need to use Batteries, Repair Kits, and Vitality packs make droids more 'needy' then many people would like. Add this to the low Reward to Need ratio that all droid functions have. Item Storage and Data Storage Modules aside, most droid functions have very small benefit to offer, for the amount of time and credits that are needed to keep the dorid operating. All of the droid functions are geared towards the newer members of the SWG community, yet many of the seasoned vets of SWG haven't the slightest clue about Droid use, since majority of the documentation on droid use comes solely from the DE community.
Having ratings and numbers, that mean nothing to a non-DE, listed on the droid deed is one of the major issues that most people have with droid usage. These numbers often lead to false beliefs, such as the case with Item Storage or the Combat Rating (pre-18). The way that informtation is listed on a droid deed needs to be addressed, from the ground up, so that people can look at a droid and understand that it is supposed to have an X Armor rating, will produce X damage, or has X number of items that it can store. Once this is finally taken care of, then more people will be able to understand what they are looking at, such as the case for Armor, Weapons, Food, Clothing, and Meds.
If we want more attention to our issues, then we need to get the backing of a larger slice of the community. The only way that I ever see this happening is if the SWG community becomes more educated, when it comes to droid use. Once more people become aware of the capablities of a droid, such things as how much armor a droid can have or how much damage it can render, by looking at the droid deed, the education process could begin.
Truthfully, how many people in the entire SWG community can look at any droid deed and tell you how much damage it can produce, what its Armor Rating should be, how many items the droid can store, or how many structures it can service, by looking at the currently listed stats? I'm going to guess that its the same number of people who have actually played a DE.

well if that guy wasn't kicked from the guild for disrespecgting openly then you better seriously consider why you are in that guild...at minumum he should have been given a STRONG warning about that sort of thing...
My thoughts exactly!
