Very very cool, I'm very glad to see that such droids are now useful (if ungrouped) to lower level characters. These droids may have a use after all

OK but what happens when me as a CL1 crafter go out to my havesters on say Dantooine and there are some CL55-CL65 Voritors setting up shop at the base of the harvies? Will these CL30 droids even stand a chance at that point?

Most people seem to only be testing the droids on mobs below the droids CL which really doesnt do alot of good. No offense to anyone doing these tests however. We all greatly appreciate the time and effort your putting forth!

Surely you are not suggesting that we be able to make droidssuch that someone with no combat skillscan solo level 55-65 creatures are you?

Actually with good droid stims, one of these droids (when the armor stays at 9k) could probably take some decent level mobs.

I assume your post is sarcastic towards the devs and not me. No offense taken by me however.

Actually no I dont want droids to be able to take Krayts and such but I do want some way of defending myself when I make harvester runs or go to survey. I enlist members of my PA when I can but really dont like doing so. It takes hours out of their play time just to follow me around from planet to planet to find good spots of resources. All I want is a reasonable means for me to clear out hostile mobs from around my harvesters when I go to place or check them. Back when the droid revamp first went live I could easily take my droids out with me and fight off most anything that was at my harvesters with out having to worry to much about the droid. These days they seem pretty much a waste of time and resources though.

There was no sarcasm in my post, I asked an honest question, as it sounded like your expectation of a droid is thata droidshouldbe able to defend you from (if not kill) level 55+ creatures, and such a sentiment surprised and confusedme. Personally I just don't think this is a realistic expectation. I say that because of my own beliefs that it would seriously unbalance the game, and also because of participation in discussions on this topic with developers both at fanfest and during the CE beta. I believe the developer sentiment can be summed up by saying: "you should be scared and in great peril if you visit the "adventure" planets without sufficient combat skills, but you should be able to "do your thing" most everywhere else with the proper equipment and percautions". If it is true that someone with no combat skills can own a droid that fights like a level 30 creature, I'd say they accomplished that pretty well. They also gave us the ranger cammo thingy, although I've yet to hear anyone report how effective or not effective that is.

Also, I question your (implied) claim about your previous droid being able to clear fields of level 55+ creatures. I'd have to see that to believe it. Must have been one hellova droid.

Amen, bro. I think the current system with droids seems well balanced. I still would like to see a droid handler profession so that people could spend skill points to weild really cool droids but until that happens then no one should get good combat abilities without spending the skill points to get them. Killing CL54 creatures as a crafter shouldn't happen.
