Thread: Droids Loseing their Combat modules if sold on vendors
hello
I have the same problems with my droids. Making lots of R3 and Probot droids and one customers just told me today that they couldn't attack. So i checked and saw this too. Most of my droids were from before Publish 18, but some were from after and thy had the same problems. I don't have repair modules in, just combat modules and armor.
I hope it will be answered fast cause i have lots of droids for sale on vendors, and if they all have lost their combat capability, it will be a real problem. And i don't know at all what to do with that.

Xrystal, was it a pre or post patch 18 droid? It seems so far its only effecting pre patch 18. Well not all some say their pre patch 18 droids are fine, but so far all my pre patch 18 droids are borked if I sell them as deeds. My post 18 droids dont seem to be effected.
It may not be that big a deal if its only pre patch 18 droids, but to me its a lot of resources and time already put into a droid that sells, but not nearly as fast as BH droids.
The devs may not even invest time into fixing this, I just wanted to get word out there that its happening. I am trying to save other DEs wasted droids and possible damage to an already hurting profession by makeing new droid buyers upset and distrustful of droids. Already had enough lost business to patches, Man I am taking a beating from rotw. lol Damn wooks handing out free weapons. lol
Ah, mine were post upgrade. Had 25 droids on the vendor before the upgrade went live and I trashed them the day after so can't even test that possibility. I have simply made a new set of droids but now I am wary of putting them on the vendor if this happens.
So far if I split the crate instead of pull the deed from the crate and sell that, it seems the droids dont lose their combat modules. So if I have a crate of 5 r3 combat droids, I just split the crate 1 droid at a time and put them up for sale.
So if you have them crated, sell them crated. If you dont and have room to store a bunch of bugged droids save them. I wish I could just destroy all my droids and not worry about the bug, but I still have 20 crates of one style and 6 of another style droid (130 droids plus the 7 crates I split and put out to sell), if I can get away with selling them crated I will. The only problem I see now is when people go to look on the glataic bazaar for droids it wont show up in the normal search since its now crated, not deeded.
While that maybe true for some, in my case its not. No attack commands in the datapad or on the radial menu when I call the droid. I have only ever programmed my droids through the radial, and thats how I teach my customers, I dont/didnt know you could program them in the data pad. I only look in the datapad to see if I am calling my crafting, harvesting or combat droid, even after I name them I forget which is which.
Either way, if anyone is finding any difference from what I describe or what others describe, please keep adding to this post. It seems some people are being effected with post patch 18 problems, This really needs to be fixed, its hard enough makeing money as a DE, loseing resources to bugged droids and the potential of scareing off customers can be a death nail to many DEs, especially the newer guys joining us.
Thanks for the replys though, when I posted this, I thought maybe I was just stupid. lol
The commands were never listed before in the datapad until after the first use or programming. At least as recent as before publish 17 it was like that maybe even earlier .. I just can't remember when I first saw this feature as such.
My work around for this is to put the 6 different type of combat related droids on display and then use the vendor to let people know that I would prefer not to risk them losing the combat ability and thus will wait for them to choose a droid and then I will sell them it or make one like the one they chose.
Oh and another little tidbit that sprang to mind .. my first droid (I bought it way way back when I was a little artisan) was a harvesting droid. When I first called him it had no attack command but somehow after several uses of the command or due to grouping with a combatable droid it seemed to *learn* the command. I have yet to repeat this ability with any droid since but thought Id mention it ... just in case.
Has anyone else noticed that not all droids lose their combat ability on a vendor? I pulled all my combat models from all 7 of my vendors, and noticed that some retained their ability! There was no rhyme or reason, or any pattern I could detect to which kept & which lost combat. Even within the same model type, some lost it and some kept it.
But, on the positive side, I sure am glad they fixed the candles and lights! Heaven forbid someone should have to use their personal light!!!

That's certainly in keeping with the experience Rasal and I have had with his droids. He tested out his droids and they seemed to come off his vendor fine with combat capability and then I bought one from him and I got no combat ability. Very inconstitent. Any word from the devs on this issue?

I think Drashk mentioned that there is a developer who is looking into droid issues for the next few publishes. Keep yer fingers crossed.
