Thread: Droids Loseing their Combat modules if sold on vendors

I noticed, droids loseing their attack abilities if the deed is sold on a vendor. ButI figured maybe it was a conversion bug, so I got out a new stack of deeds from crates that where stored on a vendor, everything was fine till I put the deed on the vendor to be sold, low and behold, the deed was bought and it had lost its combat abilities.

What I am doing to still sell droids and not give discounts to pissed off customers every few minutes? Simple really, crated deeds are not being effected, so I split the crates instead of uncrateing deeds, so now a potential customer just buys the 1 deed in a crate. He then will have to uncrate it themselves, then ready the droids deed. So far so good.

Just a tip to DEs out there, I have already had to trash 70+ fully equipped Advanced R3's cause of this, and drive to customers who found out their new toy doesnt do a damn thing, I replaced the droid and gave them a deep discount for their troubles. Its paid off though, I get a lot of tells back for being so cool and makeing nice droids, then word of mouth spreads. I dont mind doing the leg work to keep customers happy, I just preffer not driveing all over the galaxy while I have a lot of crafting to catch up on.

Are these newly crafted droids or pre-publish 18 droids?

lol They are pre cu droids. WhenI made master DE I made a ton of droids. Only a few crates left. Didn't think to test new droids, I have only been makeing new droids to cumtom orders. Ill do that in a few minutes.

I also noticed there is a "ranged atack" option in the program button now. If you program it, it toggles off the ranged attack ability but never toggles it back on. Spent about an hour with a customer trying to get it to work and save the discount money. lol I noticed it on the R3 droids, but didnt bother messing with it. But a customer ordered a Probot custom built, he wanted specifically for ranged attacks. The probot will fight at range if the mob does, but if th emob gets into melee the probot will stay in melee. I seem to remember them running to keep the best distance for ranged fighting pre-cu/paych 18. He was mad it didnt always range fight, but liked it was tough enough to help him escape death.

OK, I just made every possible combat droid a MDE can. I put them on a vendor, and pulled them off and they kept their combat abilities. I also put new deeds on the vendor and had my alt buy them, they kept their combat modules. Appearently its only pre pub 18 droids effected.

And just to throw a wrench in this theory, I made a big run of probots before Pub18 went in. After Pub18 went in, I pulled the crates out of the factory, took the deeds out and placed them on my vendor. When I pull one off the vendor, the combat rating sticks and the droid is combat-capable. So there's got to be a method to the madness...

Rasal I bought a probot from you just yesterday. It was one of the ones that had a 10-item storage and was also CL30. I assumed that they were post publish 18 droids. In any case, I bought it to replace my poor other probot that got converted to CL1 after the patch (as you might recall from other threads I posted in). I was going to try to have him fixed but when I saw that your new ones had storage modules, I figured what the heck -- why bother hanging onto my old ones in a probably vain hope of having him fixed? Your new droids are the max of CL30 and have storage.

Well, imagine my suprise when I called out the new droid and I found that he had no attack or guard commands trainable. I did restore and recall him a couple times after the initial time to make sure it was just some fluke. I was going to send you an in-game message about this but I figured that since you're clearly reading here I would post here so the rest of the community can chime in to see what happened. Thoughts anyone? I definitely assume Rasal used combat modules in the new droid. I guess it's remotely possible that he messed up and put only armor modules in. I certainly doubt that.

EDIT: OK, I feel foolish now but I'll leave the original message in here. Re-reading the stickied post, it is clear that I am suffering from the bug that is posted there. I'll contact you in-game Rasal to talk about what to do. I really want use droids -- I do. It sure is getting tough though.

Hmm...that is disturbing. Thanks for the feedback on this. It is the first I've received from an actual customer about Pub18 droids. I have faith that the devs will address this issue and make your droid programmable again, but I am also more than willing to refund you. Let me know in-game what your would like to do. Also, if you look at the droid's commands from the datapad, does it have the Attack and Guard commands there on default? If so, do they work?

Yeah, I looked at the datapad and there are no attack and guard commands there. As to what to do, I think I'll just hang on to the droid for now. I likewise am sure that this will get fixed eventually. If it drags on for a while, I might have you get me a crated droid as has been suggested in the stickied publish 18 bug thread here.

I had this bug happen to one of my probots sold in a vendor: (Post CU / Pre Pub 18)

Adv Probot chassis

1 Cluster with 3 combat modules

1 Combat module

1 Auto Repair module

2 level 4 armor modules

Customer emailed me, indicating the attack abilities were gone.

Not happy.

Not sure what happened to your droids that were pre 18 rasal. But I have a pretty steady R3 combat droid business. Just by lucks sake, I only sold 2 after the patch was added, so, so far I have only had 2 customers effected. Just by chance the first guy bought it while a guild mate was in our mall. And I just got back in town. So I took care of that right away. I took all the droids off the vendor and trashed them. I then got some crates out and tested them, and they worked. Everything seemed fine, so I reposted 30 or so droids back on my vendors. The next dayI get a customer wanting 2 custom droids, an R3 and a probot. What he wanted the R3 to do I already had on my vendor and I didnt have any probots at the time so I had to hand build and personally trade to him. The probot worked but the R3 lost its combat abilities. So I ended up on Tat with a irrate customer, he was mad that the droid didnt work, but I think he was happy I took the time to get him a new droid and run out to where he was grinding to trade up. We got to talking about the bugs and he seemed ok that it was a bug and not me trying to scam him.

Can I ask all the people that are getting reports of bugged droids. DO they have auto-repair modules in them? I didnt notice if my pure combat R3's were effected, and the 2 R3 droids I sold had 5 repair and 1 combat module, oh they also had 2 level 3 armor modules. Also Rasal did your probots have auto-repairs in them? Also, to the guys reporting complaining customers, what chassis was/is the droid? Just curious if it was only the R3.

EDIT: I just want to say again, if you have droids in crates, they dont seem to be effected by this bug, so instead of getting the droid deeds from crates and posting them, split the crate and put the 1 deed still crated on the vendor. Its not a good fix to a bug, but it should keep you selling droids and not getting emails about it not working.

Hmm .. well just tested this with my droids .. but didnt see your latest posts before hand ..

Merchant Tent .. owned by Droid Vendor owner who created the droids. Buyer (my other account) is on admin list and isa Bio Engineer so entitled to use the Medic ability.

Droid Set Up:

R5 Advanced

Level 6 Medic x 1 , Combat x 1, Level 4 Armor x 1

Combat option appeared in program list.

I have a few droids with both combat and auto repair so will try that theory out next time I log her in.

Hmm, maybe they will work on the bazaar. With the current max price perhaps we will have to resign to selling through the bazaar until this vendor bug is fixed. I for one do not make factory run droids. They are crafted as and when required (basically replacing a sold droid). So I cannot utilise the work around suggested. I will have to try this little problem out with my chars and see the affect both on vendors and bazaar.

One other possibility is which addons sellers and buyers have. Although I doubt WookieWorld and SpaceWorld had any effect on the droids )
