Thread: Does SOE expect this to be my 2nd job?
I think the reason he made that request had more to do with people unfairly criticising a guy who has only been here 3 weeks for not getting everything fixed over night. People may have a right to critisize SoE, but TH has nothing to do with the existing problems with the game, or this profession in particular. Basically he was saying, instead of just whining, and blaming me for all your problems, why not help alittle.
I do agree though, that it wouldnt hurt to actually have more paid employees looking at the problems of the game.
Domacett,
I am new here, so I do not know all the people you have mentioned. I just want to be clear that nothing I have said in any way should be considered to be criticism of Sintrosi. From what I have read on this forum recently, I would have to agree, that she is one of, if not the, hardest working and most dedicated player and coorespondant in the game.

I found no critism on your post Graeme. And I agree, that Sintrosi is a good example of what a correspondent should be.
I support Thunderheart's efforts, and I see a lot of other people doing the same. But I often see posts that say something to the effect of "get off his case, he's not a developer" or something like that. I wanted to help clear up the mess and expose the frustration that many of us that have been here a while are feeling. We have a legitimate concern that maybe some of the newer people, like yourself, may not quite understand.
Nope. Im just one fan working with other fans.
Does SOE expect this to be my 2nd job?
My personal belief is that TH is reading more than we know, and he must be aware of our sticky threads, but he cannot spend the time to be more detailed in his communication with us.
Well, part of the problem there is that too many people are reading too far into my questions.
Im just taking time to understand the depth of what you are telling me...thats all ![]()

It would be nice if you would share with us a little of what you understand so far.
To get things fixed everyone needs to cancel their accounts all at once, and if it isn't fixed by the next time you should be rebilled keep it cancelled. But, if they do fix it, then uncancel. Why is everyone paying for a broken game? I've kept my account open for the last month and a half, hoping it would get better, but nothing has changed, in fact, it's gotten worse. If it isn't fixed by the next billing period they've just lost a customer.

The comment about us being the experts is a little insulting too. Yes we play the game, but you guys have access to software tools, hardware and coding that we only wish we could get our hands on.
Knowing what the code for a profession looks like is not even remotely the same as playing the game as that profession. The code could look completely fine to a programmer, especially if he has no clue what area of the code is causing the problem. If you guys would stop fighting TH and just give him the answers he's asking for then the programmers can better zero-in on what area of the code is causing the problem. Then instead of "I look through all 15,000 lines of DE code and couldn't find the problem" you get "yep, once I looked at their answers I realized that it the problem was somewhere in these 150 lines of code and I was able to spot the problem in no time."

Obviously this means that the DE profession is going to the top of the priority list, and by the end of December you'll be able to craft a droid that will ** actually play the game for you **.
Graeme, the poster said he doesn't mind giving opinions and insight into the game. basically i think what he means by this is what things could make the game more fun.
i do agree with one of the things the poster said, the corrospondants should get paid or free gameplay... lol... soe obviously needs these correspondants, to create more efficiency in gathering information..or something..and to connect with the players more...i suggest free gameplay if anything, not payment, ccause then it will feel like they aren't part of the 'player base'...they'll be like those CSR in-game and such..heh..
If you dont feel like "searching for information"..... dont. Nobody is requiring you to as you seem to feel. Some people, from all the time they have spent on this forum, have a vast knowledge of the posts and ideas that have been through here.
It would be rude for me to invite you over for dinner and then require you to cook the chicken. However, I dont think it would be so horrible for me to ask you to pass me the pepper ![]()

Personaly, Im starting to think SOE has moved 99% of thier Devs to work on "Thier" EQ2 project.
I think that'd be the Space Expansion and Player Cities, mounts, and whatever that was promised but didnt make it into the release. While in my opinion they should've been delayed untill every proffesion was fixed to some extent.
