Thread: Droid Storage Compartments -- Bugged? (I hope)

And FOR YOUR INFO DE's, all those pre-made schematics MEAN SQUAT NOW! The station schematic will look at the base stats of the DSC's and if it isn't high in conductivity it will carry over this fact into the station. Pre-made schematics do NOT overcome this nerf.

Eh, woe is me for now having edit functions...I had it in my mind we were talking about completed crates of the old components, not schems...but I still feel that the old schems will probably work fine with the values tied to them....but of course schems hold the info of what resource made them, just not the final components....eh, I dunno, why don't people test it instead of griping at each other.

Why does a DSC need conductivity?
Why does a droid armor plate need conductivity?
What do they conduct?
NO ONE KNOWS.........
You should know by now you can not expect any kind of logic from the devs.
This is exactly what happened. When the experimentation values were changed the required resource values became those of other DE crafted parts. The only thing that I have seen effected by the resource requirement change are Private Crafting stations. Most Droid Engineers that have spent a few months collecting resources should have a decent supply of copper with high OQ and Con. Polysteel copper will more than likely be the best candidate to look for, since it typically has 900+ Con and at 700+ OQ.

Could be that they are trying to bring DSC more in line with other DE components.

From what I have seen, thisstatement is incorrect. The quality of a factory schematic is based upon the experimentation value ofwhenit wascrafted.
Cafa, I would suggest finding a better type of Steel to use in the crafting of the Micro Sensor Units. This actually is one of the items with the largest impact on the Functionality rating of a crafting station.

Drashk.... I agree with you. That seems like that's exactly what happened.
Of course there are going to be complaints about it, because it was changed and was not REALLY announced. The patch said:
Now you could argue that they meant to do exactly as they did, and that the above sentence communicates it perfectly...
But the thing is, BEFORE the patch, a Master Artisan/Novice DE could craft a Droid Storage Compartment and she would get 10 experiment points. I know this to be true because I tested it. THAT is what they meant in the patch when they said it would fall under Droid experimentation. If you are only Novice DE, then of course you only have 1 (or 2?) experimentation points.
On the flip side, a Master DE who was not also a Master Artisan..... did they get 10 points to experiment on these things? I'm not sure. I'm sure someone has tested that. Now that of course would be a problem.
But what Sony did insetad was not only change the pool of experimentation points from the Artisan tree to the Droid Engineer tree (which is good), but also they changed the actual effect of the experimentation. That is not good. But only because it wasn't really announced or communicated in any form.
See, I'm a Master Architect, Master Artisan, Novice DE. I am working on becoming a Master DE, but I've only just started recently. I started making crafting stations many months ago. After I had made my first few, I started learning what things it took to make better ones. I progressed from somewhere around 8.0 on up into the 30s, and finally I recently crafted one at 41.75. That was my best so far.
Since that time, I have again searched high and low for high quality resources to make these stations. It's a game for me, to be sure... since I don't even know how much of a difference a few 10ths of a point will make anyway. But just this week (literally) I FINALLY acquired everything that I need to make a station above 43.0. I was excited, and started advertising to my customers and putting in pre-orders.
Then patch day arrives... and lo and behold! I am slapped in the face with a CHANGE to a schematic. Not just a change to the pool from which the experimentation points are derived.... but an actual CHANGE to the integrity of the schematic.
I have not stockpiled high OQ high CD metal. Why? Because I haven't seen any in ages! (I'm on Chilastra)
So basically it just really bums me out because this FEELS like a nerf. Even if you say it isn't, and that it was supposed to be this way from the get go. The fact remains that the schematic was changed DRASTICALLY rather than "tweaked a bit".
I'm not mad about this, really. I just think it is a bug, and was not intended to be this way. I think that when whoever did the programming to convert the experimentation over to the DE pool, they accidentally just copied the stats from the other Droid Storage Compartments (which are actually COMPLETELY different components..... if they weren't different components, then the Droid Storage Compartments that go into craft stations would be the Level 1 Storage Component modules. But they aren't-- so they are different . See?)
I would just like to either see the devs say "Yup, we intended it this way. Now go out and find yet more resources to make your craft stations" OR "Oops, we'll have that fixed, but not until next publish." I would be very happy with EITHER answer, because AN answer is better received than none. ![]()

Fivo AsiaHow do you know this for sure?
Testing produced a lower station rating from same parts. Only thing different was freshly made parts from pre-patch schematic.

This really just burns me whenever I see this. Obviously cuz it affects me more, but "I really don't care, personally, as I rarely sold Droid Storage Compartments before the patch" is because the standard was so high in the first place.
