Thread: Droid Owner's Manual Version 3

Good job on the manual. Might want to add under Medical droid that the Surgical droid doesn't come with inherent medical abilities. There still seems to be some confusion about that one floating around.

As far as the medical droid issue:
The Surgical Droid & ADV - One would think that this droid would have inherrent healing abilities, but it does not. The most comon configuration is to place a food/chem station and a L6 healing module in it. Item and data storage do not work in this droid. It can also take a personality chip to make it talk. Currently, only the sarcastic and worshipful personality chips work reliably.
I should put something about that in the med droid section, though ![]()
Any critisisms, etc, are most welcome - I'll incorporate them all when I do the next version.
Questions:
1. Can a single droid have more than one storage module and store more items/schematics? Say I want to store 50 items in my droid...
2. Do driods with crafting stations have an effect on the functionality of a standard crafting station if used at the same time? I.e., is it beneficial to have your crafting droid out when using a high quality standard crafting station?
3. I once heard that differing functions, such as medical and crafting, might not work properly in the same driod. Is this true? Will a level6 medical module and a food/chemical crafting station peacefull coexist and work properly for both functions?
thanks,
neut

No. Modules do stack for better functionality, but there is a cap - 10 items for item, 110% medical rating for med mods.
2. Do driods with crafting stations have an effect on the functionality of a standard crafting station if used at the same time? I.e., is it beneficial to have your crafting droid out when using a high quality standard crafting station?
No, the effect does not stack. I am not sure how the station you are using is determined - in general, I find that my personal droid's crafting station does not seem to fail more often than my +42 station in my house, but there is no way to prove this. I should mentino that my station in my droid (the module) is experimented up fairly high, and is in a cluster that is also experimented on - and I am not sure how much that affects the crafting.
3. I once heard that differing functions, such as medical and crafting, might not work properly in the same driod. Is this true? Will a level6 medical module and a food/chemical crafting station peacefull coexist and work properly for both functions?
The droids that I make to not seem to have this problem. Most of my stock is surgicals, adv probots, adv R2's and adv R3's. They fixed the bug where you couldn't have different types of stations in a droid at the same time. As noted above, a surgical droid does not let any data and/or item storage modules function in it (though, they can be placed there).

Does a crafting station that goes into a droid have different levels of quality, or is it just a generic item? Is it something that can be experimented on?
Essentially what I'm asking is whether I need to ask for a specific level or quality of the crafting station to put into a droid or it's sufficient to specify the type of crafting station.
Yes, we CAN experiment on them, and we can get them to a fairly high 'module rating'... But that rating does not seem to correlate to the numbers on architect-built crafting stations. The best I can suggest is that you go to a DE you trust, and hope for the best result, because there is no way to even SEE the fact that a crafting station is installed in a droid or deed, let alone know the quality of such.
There is one other thing to consider on experimenting on the modules - what the devs did, retroactively, with harvestors.
Lets say that right now, it does nothing at all to experiment, and then the devs fix it.
All of those droids out there that were not experimented on suddenly have cruddy crafting stations in them. People get mad, and trust droids even less than many do now.
I think it is worth the few extra clicks to experiment on the modules - especially if you are doing factory runs of them.
Quick correction.. It may have been covered so im sorry if sombody alraedy said this..
You have treadwells listed as a 1 mod droid, adv treadwells can hold 2 ![]()
