Thread: What are your current prices and will they change with publish 7

It varries greatly by server. Tarquinas has managed to miss most of the money dupes, so our economy has actually gone through some deflation lately (due more to the fact that many people on our server tend to like to hoard credits). My prices put my droids at something like a 3x profit, which is more than enough to pay for everything I want.

Why are we talking about publish 7, when publish 6 isn't even live yet?

Icatipev, good news my prices are right in line with yours, except one droid. The Probot it is one of the few droids that actually has an inherent function, which I know is supposed to change. I sell my probots for 25k with either the medical or item storage, and they sell like theres no tomorrow. They have a market because they have a high HAM, can be loaded with Armor and are a good tank. I don't think you are charging enough for the droid. That is my view of it, and being on Kettemoor, I think you can raise your prices and make even more profit.

I guess you are right, your argument about the inherent function of the probot makes sense. To be honest, I never really thought about that. Maybe because all other droids lack something like that.

And if my customers complain about my prices I'll direct them to you:

I'm on Starsider as well Hoshi, and fall a little below you in price, but not in the 10k range either. For a average loaded R3, I charge about 35k. For a probot with just lvl 6 armor about 20k. For a R2 with 3 mods about 32k. I don't use any magic formula as some do, but I seem to do alright.

I can't imagine selling a R3 for 70k. I would be poor as hell on Starsider.

I've noticed a huge increase in sales today for Droids with Item Storage also. I hadn't sold anything in 2 weeks, and today I had 5 emails for Droids and a few /tells. I was like, wow. But the main thing seems to be the Item Storage Compartments. They have to have that Item Storage on them. Hmmmm.

As far as mixing modules, I've always held a belief in that you should not be able to put 2 of the same module on a Droid. You're right. That is cheating and cheats the MDE out of his own. I don't care if 2 level 3's equal a level 6 or whatever. That should only be reserved for the MDE's who can make level 6 modules. But, right now we don't have a lot to put on a Droid. Why have 5 slots if you can only use 3? I also believe in only putting modules in the correct Droids. (ie. Med modules in Surgical Droids, NOT Probots)

that modules stack is not the problem. it makes perfect sense for them to stack. the problem is that there aren't enough useful modules, and because of that, there is no real penalty for choosing the level 4's over the level 6's. If there were more modules that are useful to everyone THEN the benefits of the level 6's would be huge because using them makes more room for other useful modules. but as it stand, only droids made for hard-core crafters have any need for using the Level 6 modules.

but the problem isn't stacking of the lower level modules.the problem is lack of overall content in the profession. the reason that using one level 6 isn't much better than 2 level 4's is because there are enough other useful modules to put into the slots that using the level 6 saves. You could fix the master problem by removing stacking but then you weaken the entire profession as a whole (non-masters droids will be almost completely useless if you do that, and the end result would be to encourage grinding to master even more). The better fix, IMO, is to leave stacking in place, and then increase the number of modules by a pretty good amount so that the master's droids will become significantly better than they currently are.

I think my prices WILL change. Let me tell you why.

With "Droid Invasion" droids will become more popular. More people will want them. That demand will drive the market and server-wide, prices on droids will increase.

As I said before, the buyer makes the market, not the manufacturer. What do you think an economy is? It is not how much worth your items hold sitting on a shelf...it is how many people buy them and how much they are willing to pay for those items.

This thread is an eye opener. I have only recently become a Droid Engineer by choice (never even read my holocron) and have been wondering about prices since I started selling my MSEs. (I actually sold quite a few)

I saw another DE selling his seekers for 1K per use so I set my price at that as well. I doubled it for the Arakyds.

Probot ADV Chassis and BLL ADV Chassis are 40K (randomly picked price)

I have been slowly inflating my prices to guage the response of my customers. I started with a rough formula of 3cpu for materials because that is the average price I could sell the materials for on my vendor. I would then add 1000 for basic electronic/droid components and 2000 for advanced electronic/droid components, both of wich I can produce myself being a Master Artisan as well.

For the mods, I charge 1k per level for meds, 10K for repair, and 1K per level on item sotrage. (Data has never been requested) I charge 2K for all crafing stations (medical being my most common)for their usefulness, not based on materials. I am currently charging 1K per level of armor up to level 4 as I cannot make level 5 or 6 due to a lack of composite segment supplies at reasonable prices. Prices on those will be dependent on my cost as that is about the only component I cannot supply myself.

This formula hasn't elicited a single refusal or comment on my prices being too high. Therefore I have recently decide to add a 1K per complexity fee (on the final product only, not all the components) and see f the prices still hold up. Viewing this thread, I think I could add about 10K and still do well! LOL

I know this seems like alot of math and meandering but it makes me feel like a real businessman in game and adds to my enjoyment of running my shop.

Im with a lot of you an pricing chassis first, and then modulespriced accordinly. I used to price based on chassis only, but abandoned that when we started to get good quality specific resources.

As far as the prices changing as a whole with new modules...not likely. Ill price the new modules (if they come about) depending on how I set prices now: amount of resources, rarity of resource, factory parts, inter-profession parts, etc. Of course if the market swings, one cannot stay too low or too high either.

Actually not even an MDE can make a Surgical with 10 item storage. Storage doesn't work in surgicals because of a bug.

Wow, a lot of you people are waaaay to cheap on your droids. A loaded R3 for 35K? They go for 50K easily if you have a decent location. A BLL chassis for 25K ?

If it came down to that dirt cheap pricing on Kauri, I wouldn't even bother anymore. The time it takes to plan out a run of droids on a factory takes way too much time. In that time you burn making cheap arse droids, you could make 1000 top of the line powerups and make a whole lot more than you could with droids. Throw in a few vehicles and you can call yourself a DE, but never really make any droids because it just isn't worth it.

That depends on what you mean by "loaded". The uber-R3s I made (4 crafting, Med and Item) sell for 100k on Ahazi.

A BLL chassis for 25K ?

On Ahazi, chassis go for about 50-70% of the finished droid price. I tend to sell mine in quantity to good clients for 12k a pop.
