Huge numbers of combat droids!?

Could it be, I mean, possibly might this imply, well, should we even hope, for:

THEY ARE NO MATCH FOR DROIDEKARS (HAHAHAHAHAA)!

typing that segment takes 3 minutes and can shut most DE up, that's a good deal. not that I am saying it's bogus, but... I'll believe it when I see it.

Well this is a start, and as long as people view it as such there shouldnt be too many disapointments....

I get the impression from Holos post (because he wasnt very clear) that we will need to use the Vitality packs _and_ the repair tool - Vitality packs just dont fit into the Droid ideal and should be replaced with something that only DE's can make (I suspect this is a long way off because the Vitality pack mechanics obviously work and thus this will have a really low prioroty)

I wont comment futher on the repair tool - its all already been said :-)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, more combat droids arent the answer (even with perma-death removed) they wont allow newbies to get hold of something uber - so either the droids will be as nerfed as the probot or we'll get certs at the same time (and I really really dont want certs). Besides this we still dont have much of an ongoing market because we dont make the vitality packs and if Holo wakes up to the fact that there is already a repair tool then any Artian will be able to make it.

This is the second time I've seen devs make reference to 'lots of fixes' in the last update - I'd really like to know what they think they fixed. Either theres a massive difference between what they think they've fixed and what theyve actually fixed, or 'lots of fixes' isnt very much at all in terms of DE problems (lets be honest the 'storage module fix' was more of a nerf really)

I just hope some of this means droids will start being seen as seperate (FINALLY) of the Creature Handlers. A droid is NOT really a pet, and Star Wars is like 50% droid!!! Lucas himself has said many a time that it's a story about R2 and 3POs adventures!

I want to eventually see a LOT less creatures out there and a lot more droids. That's how it should be.

Well, time to add my 2 credits....

i think that these changes will be good for now. And the proposed future changes are good for DE as well. Its also nice to note that they are in fact reading the bug report... thats another big help i think.

And, oh yeah... NO PERMA DEATH!! which means a couple of ups for us... first, more sales of our combat droid(s) (yeah... well we have one worth anything... but still the precident is there). The other thing that it means is power droid/repair mod droid sales... since more droids will have wound damage (power droids still heal mind wounds dont they?? heard that, but never tested it). And as another wonderful bonus, the droids will slowly wear down... not below 75%... but 75% of 800HAM is 600... so better then nothing for the person that wants a top notch droid.

In addition, it was posted on the BH forum about the proposed change for Seekers... hopefully that one will hit the next patch, but no mention of it in Holos thread.

Only thing i see as a downer is not storing pets in a data mod. So what are they good for? last i tried, they stil dont store waypoints (which I have a TON of)... so that leaves scematics... well better then nothing I suppose... but I was hoping that storing pets wasnt a bug... that would have been a great sales point with the new changes to stored pets.

But all in all... i like the proposed ideas and changes. Keep em coming!!!

My only hope is that they actually follow through.

But they probably wont.

This is all great news and brings a much-needed ray of hope in our futures as DEs.
