Does he get crafting xp when he hunt?
The purpose is not to make money.
The purpose is to make the grind a little less painfull and boring.

I like that these missions will keep some of the more impatient grinders from dumping their sub-par crap on the market.

I think if the reward was bigger there would be a better chance of keeping sub-par droids off the market. Lets see, you could go do a 2.5k cr mission as basically a newb with a newb gun or you could get a whopping 210cr for using 5000 cr in resources. I don't think the low payout is helping keep money out of the system. I think the 'reward' is just making people laugh.
