I decided to test out the new crafting missions, so i went and took a DE difficult one, it asked me to craft 6 3PO Chasis, so i did and added them to the crate the guy gave me.

Usually i would sell them for 20k each so i was expecting quite a bit of cash

I took the crate back, completed the mission, i got no xp as im MDE and am maxed out,
BUT i was so happy when i got some money ........ 210 credits yay!

Lol what a waste of time and money!

Now com'on, did you REALLY expect a lot of money? They are trying to get RID of the surplus money that the players have. This is just another sneaky ploy to get rid of the money we have.

I tried the DE difficult crafting mission and he wanted 8 Deeds for Adv protocol droids(fully built droids).

Needles to say I turned the mission down and tried another for 8 jawa effect modules, got 210 credits.

8 jawa effect modules does not equal 210 credits.

I hope the reward for 8 protocol droids would be better than 210 credits but somehow I doubt it.

Hello everyone,

We appreciate all the comments and feedback about the items in Publish 9.2, and I would like to follow up with a few of our thoughts regarding the Crafting Contractor quests.

The primary demographic for which these quests are designed is the junior crafter that is trying to work his or her way up to master the profession. The Crafting Contract system is intended to be an alternative for those that are trying to get experience at novice levels, but find it difficult to sell the items that they make to other players.

To this goal, crafters have had the option to use 'practice mode' on their crafting tools to earn slightly more experience at the cost of losing the prototype item that would normally be produced. This system is comparable to what we are trying to achieve with the Crafting Contractor quests. Filling the contracts may be a little slower, but the experience bonus is larger and the crafter will get a small credit reward (as opposed to no credit return in practice mode).

We wanted the main reward for these contract to be the experience bonus for completing the assignment, the credit rewards are intentionally on the low side. These are not quests from which you will make a profit, we still want the main source of income for crafters to be from selling items to other players.

We do not want to exclude intermediate or advanced crafters that want to take part in the system, and so your local crafting contractor will give you the option to choose the difficulty of your assignment. Keep in mind though, that since the primary return for these quests is the experience, master crafters may find the reward less satisfying.

I understand that this is not what many people had in mind for the crafting quests. That being said, and as some others have previously suggested, I think that having true "quests" for crafters is a fantastic idea (something sufficiently challenging and interesting, with an appropriately appealing reward). It is something that we have talked about, and it is something that I would love to be included with future content.

Again, I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to participate and post your feedback. We do take all comments seriously and keep them in mind for revisions and future content.

I don't think 100xp is a large xp bonus, is it?

I tried it out too... just for fun really.

So I went with my Master Tailor and took an easy mission.

"Make me 7 smocks", he said to me.

Sure, why not? So I made them as fast as I could and handed the crate back to the man in the guild hall.
A whopping 210 credit reward and 98 tailor exerience points.

*chuckle* ... Why even bother putting those in?

I tend to agree. I mean if the difference is just 100XP, I could craft well over a 100XP worth of "practice" items in the time it takes me to put the items in the crate and hand it to the guy at the guild hall. The only target audience I see for these things are people who don't know how to grind crafting XP, or who want to "roleplay" every ounce of crafting XP they get.

-If that's the target audience, the devs failed pretty badly in my opinion.

Maybe the xp bonus should be increased a little. -I'd say 'A LOT' otherwise why bother?
People that od that deserve the bonus.

Current bonus isn't large, but is indeed larger than the practice mode bonus for the same crafting.

Well, it's a matter of balance.

If you have the money, and the time and mouse to grind, yeah, why bother. Go practice.

If you're broke, want to level, don't have alot of resource, and are happy to make some little extra credits in the process, well it's for you.
If you don't have combat prof, it's better than delivery mission anyway.

The idea is not to make grind easier, just to give another way of grinding.

As I said, a little more xp for that would be nice, because people will have to gather more different type of resource than to grind, and it will take a little more time.

A LOT more xp will just make people stop grinding in practice mode and grind in front of the contractor instead.
Not a good idea.

Just where are you finding these missions?

I checked Tyrena, Dearic and Coronet last night with no joy.

I know they are probably useless for an MDE but I want to try one!

Guild Hall normaly.

XP gain has been slightly increased on TC.

Unfortunately I don't have a crafter on TC at the moment. So I cannot test.

Crafting Missions XP > Crafting Practice XP > Crafting XP

Not bad. Plus like Gavvot said they just increased the XP bonus on TC - we'll probably see it in a few days on live.

What I wish they would do to make these more interesting is make them dependent on quality. The higher the quality, the better the payoff and the bigger the XP bonus. Just a thought.

I did a challenging DE mission today in Theed out of curiosity.

8 repair kit Cs. Lucky me had a crate of 20 on me (I've moved to Ds pretty much).

200 credits. Didn't check how much EXP it was.
