After being a master DE for approx 14mos, I'm also getting very frustrated with SOE and what they have done to the DE proffession. I almost quit DE before publish 7 & 8 but I stuck it out. After those publishes I was excited about DE once again. Now I'm seeing many of our gains go away little by little. Right now I'm thinking about quitting, but if my frustration grows I might be forced to change to a combat proffession and leave the crafting to others with more patience.

Lol you guys are killing me. Navy takes me away from the forums for2 little days and I come back to a post like this.
Lol, I was all ready to jump in here and kick Darths errrrr donkey
I'm frustrated by all the changes as well. Yet I feel secure that Jenden is doing his best to fight them, I just sadly don't thnik they are listening at all.
The GVS is a perfect example. First they introduce it, then they take it back for "changes," then they bring it back a little different. Then they launch it exactly how it first was, disregarding all crafter and merchant input. At first it's only saving grace was it was a total pain to use. Now they fixed that. Now the GVS is actually an extremely usefull tool for finding what you want, much ot the bane of crafters everywhere. All of this came in direct opposition to what the Crafting corrs said.
Jenden is talking, they just are not listening.

This is why I don't think it matters who is corr., or if crafting professions have them at all. I've been through every minute of this game since the early-2003 beta, and I've never been more discouraged about the prospects.
I created a toon on TC5, and if CU looks anything at launch like it does on TC now, I'll leave the game that day. Just the EQ icon style is enough to keep me away.

Personally, as soon as DDO comes up and running, I am going to ditch this game for that. I just do not find any charm left in the game.

would a simple PM to the DEV's kill anybody?
Can you imagine how many PMs the devs get a day? I doubt they have time ot read them all, if they did, they would even read less posts or code less.

Well, addressing the thread per its title:
I think throwing Jenden against the Wall of DEV Deafness makes the same bloody smack and smear that any DE Correspondent would make. So what would be the point of replacing him?

Trust me, if I were getting thrown against a wall I would be long gone... While we haven't seemed to have made positive progress lately, we have at the very least slowed the negative progress, which is better than the alternative.

I wasn't calling for Jenden to be replaced, the thread title notwithstanding. There's just not much point in the position in general.

It's not better than the alternative, actually. If they're going to put in changes to the system against near unanimous dissent from crafters (like the GVS), I'd rather them do it so I could stop giving them money sooner. Instead, they unveil the vendor search, and the wall of opposition leads to them rolling out most of what was objected to over two months instead of right away. I could have cancelled my accounts then instead of waiting until the end of April, $60 later (2 accounts).
If your grand strategy for DE is delaying its death, don't bother.

As long as we're alive there's a chance to make a comeback. If we just roll over and take it we lose by default. If you don't want to stick around and fight it out, I can't blame you, but that doesn't mean we'll stop trying.

Yeah, well, we're rolling over and taking it by paying SOE every month to take more and more things away from us. Paying money for SWG every month to "stick around and fight it out" is like paying for cable every month with the hope that they'll add the only channel you watch.
