I do not think it is a bad plan for implementing the enhanced combat related side of our profession.

The reason, in my mind, that it is a bad plan is because it runs head on into creating the combat side of the profession and completely ignores the non-combat roll which droids play in the game. It also completely ignores the serious problems with the existing implementation of the modules and the blue prints tree.

The fact that the protocol droid has no modules is a bug. You give it one module, and NOW its a Blueprints 4 droid that is equal in functionality to the novice DE mouse droid. That is STILL a bug, in my opinion.

Giving usthat as a fix to the protocol droid is clear indication that the developers have no clue what the issues with the current system actually are. Instead they appear to be planning to patch over all the issues by throwing a bunch of combat options and chassis' on top of everything.

dumb. dumb. dumb.

But no, I don't think their plan for combat droids is bad. The fact that THAT is their only plan for DE is what is bad, IMO.

How many people do you think will use a "combat" droid with 45 HAM or 275 HAM? Many of our existing droids fit into one of these two HAM amounts. If people aren't using many flesh CL 10 pets with less than 1000 or 1500 HAM, then what makes us think they will use droids with far, far less HAM?

I'm thinking more along the lines of ADV. BLL with level 6 armor.... now that would make a formidable tank.

Except that the BLL is a CL 12 pet, therefore unusable by any execpt a Handler/Commander.

droids will have to be balanced against creature pets. they have to have the same power for the same skillpointcost or the profession would be useless. it could requier Engineer4 and Domestics4 or something so DEs have it easy to play DE and DC.

what i would like to be diffrent, would be that droids can only take half the damage creatures with the same cl can but deal double dmg that the equievalent pets.
