Niklut, I understand were your comming from, but think about this, a year from now maybe, just maybe we may get some new droids or....

at best the combat droids we do get within this time may finally be getting there bugs addresssed.

But... the current bugs and incomplete profession problems will still be there.

why? the new profession that makes such vehicles will be more importaint to the game.

and if we stay Droid eng. we will be the least importaint crafting professions.

Mechanics if thats what we want to call them will be an essential part of game and economy as everyone will eventually have to have one to compete.

SWG has shown us (if your paying attention) that droids are for cosmetics and very small and very insignificant utility,

Vehicles will be very significant for players on a whole, for hunting, for harvesting, for smaller remote player cities.

Droids have no effect on such things and with what we all have seen, I doubt they ever will.

If we don't fight for this future section of the market we will only lose out on it. we will be left with selling R units with Med6 mods and explaining to every new potetial customer the bugs with it for years to come.

Sreaming and yelling for attention has proven fallable, We compromise and get our selves into a place were our profesion truly effects the game, and we'll all be the better.

Hmm that would be a new experiance I've never even had a thread closed, and I've posted on the forums for well over a year now.
Although speeking from experience I've seen several posts edited of closed becuase of calling someone a name and trolling but never becuase of large letters. Not to mention that you are posting off topic for the thread which is just plain rude.
I guess thats one of the reasons you aren't a mod here.

My problem is I don't understand why this is even a disscussion DE's and Vehicle mechanincs are not the same thing and they never will be.

Niklut,

you right.

I'm just very tired (been reading the DE broards since very near the time game went live) of beeing swept under the carpet.

My whole idea is based on getting us out from under the carpet , by comprimising, by taking a responsibility that is not inherently ours, in order to get closer to the spot light of the Devs.

maybe than we can get some fixing , some viability

I don't want to drop DE, I don't want to grind ANOTHER profession, DE profesion is not finished and I want to see it so.So if I have to be a grease monkey and build landspeeders and our pinnacle would be assembly of space freighters, than so be it.

Why did I become a DE?

well,... I tell you it was not

to deal with an incomplete character class with more bugs than any other,

to be second to Chef in least viability,

to be so insignificant that when we, as a community we cry out loud begging for even the slightest carroting from the devs, we are ignored.

lets face it, allready it has been proven to us, that mounts are more importaint (by the fact our Dev is now working on the mounts project and not us) than we are. and mounts won't even be seen for months.

I'm willing to comprimise now, the will is broken and now i'll take the bread and water.

Arse! I hope a CSR bans those writing in huge red letters. I shouldn't need a graphics card with a 3 gigapixel fill rate to read 4 words of text.

PureS I believe we agree on most things, I know that the DE proffession has a long way to go before it is fixed.

I just don't believe the Vehicle crafting ist the right way to go for our broken proffession.

And if anyone was really that disturbed by big red letters then I appologize for them.

I hpoe they don't make it in de skill tree. it shoud be an eleit profession off of artistian. we are about droids not veicles.

I doubt they would ever do this but what about making an Engineering starting proffesion and then branching off above it into DE or VE or architectural engineering or whatever. Artisan would still have armor crafting weapon crafting, chef, mining, and merchant.

I hope not.. vehicles aren't droids...

They shld just make a new profession, "Mechanic"

I really don't think they will add another new profession just for vehicles. It will add more to their problems currently as they will have to fix the new profession together with the the current available ones that they haven 't even finish fixing.

Placing it in the Engineering tree in Artisan is fine for start-ups vehicles, but as we progress higher for more complex and higher speed vehicles, the closest available profession that sound logical to build a vehicle is a Droid Engineer.

Yeah but being a DE defines who my character is. It isn't about making money,
at least it shouldn't be to any of us becuase there are way better ways to make money.
Although as of two weeks ago I became one of the DE's that acctually makes money at the proffession,
I still havn't made back all the money I put into the proffession but I'll get there.

One of the reasons we have TKA's and Swordsmen and pikemen is becuase people wanted to
seperate and specialize in one or the other, and I want to specialize in DE. Quite frankly I think
combining the two classes would kill the DE proffession even more becuase then you would have
thousands of vehicle engineers that can also make droids on the side and what then would we ever need with a droid engineer?

BEHOLD THE POWER OF BIG RED LETTERS.

I think Niklut stated a pretty good reason for us not to become the profession that makes vehicles. I agree with that completely. You can argue that "it's the closest thing", and yes, it is the closest thing. It's also the same as saying an orangecan bean apple because it's a closermatchthan a steak, when quite fankly, they're all completely different. They need to make a new class to support vehicles. If we can make some required pieces, that's cool, I can live with that. I make droids, not cars. But we are DROID ENGINEERS

I feel that anyone who thinks that by giving us something that isn't droid related to fix us is looking the wrong way. How is that going to make droids work? Sure, you could say that we'll have something to sell, but I thought the people in this forums wanted to sell droids. I know I do.

I think what I hate most about this idea is that I have RL friends that have helped me since I moved to my new server. I've grown in level so fast that I surpassed my trial character in skills in half the time it took for him to get there alone. I'd hate to have to turn down their credits that they'd give me to support my (just plain never happening) vehicle crafting. They're going to have to find another DE to or DE elite-elite to make them vehicles, because I make droids.
